They are pursuing ban on plastic on groceries and on the market

So basically those who would need to buy something would need to bring their own grocery bags. But there's a debate from two different sectors if this would help the environment. As they are pursuing the use if paper bag instead or you may bring your own bag. But paper bag is not that tough for heavy loads so most probably you would indeed need to bring your grocery bags as well. I don't mind having this kind of rule or law. But it's not in effect in our city, it's only being considered in quezon city. So let's us see if they would be able to implement this well and if the people would follow it.

I would say it would be a very good decision of eliminating plastic bags and replacing it with cloth bags rather than paper bags. As even if we go for paper bags, it will affect our forests. Using cloth bags is a very good alternative. And if a purchaser doesn't bring a bag with him then he should pay some more to buy a bag also. I think this will be effective if we common people decides to do it. Making it a policy and forcing generally doesn't help. If people decide by themselves then it will be more effective and will be a good step towards safe and good nature.

In my place, we have to pay 20cents for each plastic bag. But only on certain day. I am not sure if this works because I think people don't mind to pay such a small amount of money, plus they are lazy to think it is a hassle to have to bring your own grocery bag.

Hi hotsummer, People here have been encouraged to use cloth bags for several years now, and many are doing it. Most stores don't charge for their plastic bags, but they do give a small discount to those who bring their own bags from home. Plastic is very bad for the environment we need to find substitutes and maybe paper can be used in a few cases. Blessings.
