Marathons

There is a Mythbusters marathon going on right now on the Science Channel. I love that show. Yesterday since it was Labor Day in the USA, they had a lot of TV marathons then too. Call of the Wildman was on a marathon run, including two new episodes. I DVR'd them since I didn't have the time to sit and watch. That show is awesome. If you like animals, give it a try on Animal Planet. And overlook the fact that the guy is missing teeth (they came out because of a chainsaw accident, not bad hygeine). If you think it's just a bunch of hillbillies, you're so wrong. It's great! One of the best things they did on Mythbusters in the course of the time they have been on, was that huge slide they built on the side of a hill to test a YouTube video. And it's hilarious when they do alcohol myths. I believe Tory is my favorite Mythbuster. Did you watch any marathons lately? Do you do your own? Growing up, I remember my sister and I once staying up to watch a marathon of The Nanny on Lifetime. Seems so long ago! And then we'd pull out VHS tapes (yes, VHS) of The X-Files and stay up in the summer to watch those.

Always liked watching marathons of the Waltons. Now days they don't have any good family shows on so I can see why they don't have marathons! lol

They are coming out with a new TV network on some cable channel. It's supposed to have that show, ElixBxn. And Stoutjodee, if you have the Inspiration channel, they air marathons of The Waltons.

you watch a lot of great tv. i missed that marathon. i really love watching things on the national geographics channel though about ancient cultures and unsolved ancient mysteries and i sometimes watch marathons of storage wars where they find some really cool things and get them checked out. you learn so much from such shows.

You said you watch National Geographic - have you ever seen a show with a vet called Dr. Pol? I keep seeing commercials for the show and they say it's on National Geo. I was wondering if it was any good.

our Canadian history channel often does a M*A*S*H marathon on Labour day but this year, i am not sure what they did as we were moving our daughter into college. however, i will get a tv show series from the library such as Emergency! and we will have our own little marathon. hubby and my youngest daughter love Mythbusters too.

I remember some TV marathons that I watched a few years ago. That was how I discovered NCIS and possibly also House, I can still watch some of the NCIS marathons even though I've seen the shows several times. I,ve seen Turtleman and he seems a little crazy by the way he tries to catch critters. His action might be a bit tame though compared to some of those guys that try to catch and relocate alligators. Perhaps I'm a purest though because I miss the days before some of these reality shows where the Science channel had more shows on Science, A & E had more cult movies and dramas, MTV had music videos, the History channel had more History and last but not least, the Sy Fy channel had real Science Fiction rather than stupid paranormal shows and movies about giant mutant bugs.

I am SOOO with you. It seems forever since channels really used to show what they said they are. I like Turtleman's friends because they remind me of some country people I know. From way out in the boondocks. But one thing that gets me is what some of those people pay him. On a recent episode he caught a racoon, opossum, and climbed a Ferris Wheel to get a snake. What did the owner of the carnival pay him? A "lifetime" supply of cotton candy. If the people are poor, I think it's sweet how they pay him with what they can and how he is gracious. A&E seem to be dropping a lot of reality shows. Dog: the Bounty Hunter and Gene Simmons show have been canceled. Maybe that's a good sign!

I did not get a chance to watch much tv this weekend since we have moved. I am still unpacking and trying to figure out where to put things. It's odd when you look at a place you think boy this is huge, then you move in and it looks smaller. I am hoping to catch up on mylot, doing my school work and unpacking. I think if I can stay at home tomorrow I can get a lot done. It is hard to unpack with Randy around because all I hear is honey, where does this go? This weekend I am hoping it can be a lazy one so I can get things done and set up a rountine.

Loved the x-files. One show that I would love to do a marathon of is the Wonder years. It was my favourite show when I was in high school, but I have never been able to find the series on dvd. And part of me doesn't want to risk going back and watching it again after all these years in case it is't as good as I remember it!

I saw a mini marathon of the Real Housewives of New Jersey last month. The last one before that I can't remember! I like it when a series reruns the whole last season so you can get ready for the new season. Now that I have On Demand , it is easier to watch back episodes.

I would have seen the Discovery channel if I had been home but do not get any US television here in the U.K. I am sure that it is available but my sister does not subscribe to extra programmes at all. Only takes the British television. So I am way behind in watching my usual channels. I hope that you enjoy the programmes

Oh I love marathons of my favorites! I watched an Outer Limits marathon years ago that went on all day and night. I like some of the practical joke shows. That one link I sent you that time was from a show called Scare Tactics. I loved that show and I watched the marathon of it a couple of years ago. I like the scary movie marathons around Halloween too..lol. Me and the girls used to pop popcorn and watch those.

How odd you should mention this. I looked for the usual Labor Day Twilight Zone marathon on the science fiction network (SciFi??) and it wasn't on. Wow an X-files marathon would have be great too! Now The Nanny, don't think I could watch more than one of those. I've liked the few Mythbuster shows I watched. I don't think it's on during a time I'm channel surfing but I'll keep an eye out for it. ;-)

Yeah, they changed the spelling to SyFy. It was supposed to be cooler. Doesn't really work, huh? As for The Nanny, my sister and I liked the first two seasons, and we would watch those. We quit after those two. Usually Mythbusters airs on Discovery, but I've been seeing reruns of it on the Science Channel at 3pm (central) during the weekdays.
