Do you buy the movies to watch in the laptop?

I don't remember the last time I bought a CD to watch the movies. Now when I am earning the money by myself, sometimes I think that using the pirated CD is a bad thing. I think everyone will have their favorite stars and if we buy the pirated CD or download the movies from the illegal internet sources then we are not helping the stars but making them fall. I think piracy is the reason that I am not able to find the genuine version of the movies even in the market. I think the retailers are demotivated to sell the movies because of the piracy. What do you think is the solution for the problem?

I usually rent the movies from the local store. I don't buy the dvd's because I rarely watch the same movie twice, I prefer going to the dvd store and rent the movie that I want to see for a few hours, and then I take it back after I watch it. Because the renting goes by the hr, it's very cheap to watch the movie and return it immediately. I watch the tv series that I like online, and I've noticed that the users outside US don't have rights to watch them from the official sites so sometimes I find the epeisodes from other sources. I am not sure if it's illegal though.
