My Mom;s cat protects the other cats like his kittens. This stray scratched Patches, and my other two cats will crawl by on their bells because they are afraid of him. My Mom's cat was protecting my sisters cat, as this cat growled, hissed, and tried attacking my sisters cat through the bars. He has never done this behaviour before, and Im sure its not going to stop. My Mom always favoured her cat as well, so now shes basically thrown her cat aside and taking to this cat. So whenever he tries to protect the other cats my Mom flips out, and get him in trouble meanwhile in my opnion he isnt doing anything really wrong. I just think my brother and her are just plain stupid. This cat is a tom cat, and fights he has been fighting outside out house for a few months. They bring it inside, and now he is trying to pick fights with our cats. I`ve never heard Patches make a deal, she was growling, and flipping out last night just to get to the litter pan. This is just ridiculous, I told her if that cat touches my cat Ill take it to the vet and put it down myself, in my opinion he isnt a house cat, and is violent.

The more that I hear about this cat, the more that I really think that your brother and your mother made a huge mistake by bringing this stray cat into their home when there were other animals already in the house. I have to say that I personally agree with you that if this cat was to lay a paw on one of your cats, then I would have to put the cat down myself as well. I wonder if there would be a way that the litter box could be moved so that the other cats will not have to walk past the cage that the stray is being housed in.

It's in one corner of the basement, and the litter box is in the other corners. Even if they ignore the cat, and keep walking this cat is jumping around, growling, and trying to get through the cage. Now with this behaviour I think if out of the cage he would go after them. They are crawling on their tummies because they are so scared. Stripes just went down there, and I watched him. He just walking right past, didn;t even notice him until this cat started going on, and he went over wondering what's going on. Now he wont go near the basement, so I know he probably be taking his business in the bathroom on the floor.

Too bad you can't just get rid of it yourself, like there isn't a way to get some sorth of authority to take that cat away. Your family is ridiculously ignorant and stupid to keep the stray. Feeding it outside, sure, but to allow it to be inside, in a cage, screaming, growling, bullying the other cats? They've lost their dang mind.

Some cats just arent meant to be around other cats. People seem to think they are like dogs and will adjust to any situation, but cats have a mind of their own. I had a cat once that would not allow me to bring in other cats. She tolerated the other one I had at the time just because that one was here before her. It is hard to explain to people the personality of a cat. I would say you have every right to be upset about this cat picking on the others. I am not sure I would put it down, but maybe take it to a shelter where someone who has no other animals can take it in.
