Well, I'm sure it's not always such a negative description oh him, sometimes it is just an easier way of describing someone when you can't think of their name. Some "black" persons will describe white people that way too with saying the color of their skin, I have heard it and it doesn't bother me so why would that bother them so much, right? I have mixed feelings about this, & then they even call themselves the "N" word in their rap songs these days. I find that offensive and they don't care as long as it's only them saying it, I guess. It's just a confusing world nowadays and you don't know what to call who sometimes. Look at these little people now, they want to be called that instead of midgets like they used to be known as. It's something we all have to relearn again and some people don't know how to relearn things in the sense of updating terms of that kind.

I guess its not about races or discrimination though maybe its more of describing a person appearance that will help us better specially if that stand out in a certain thing, we also used white guy or back guy if there's only one black guy or white guy in a group than pointing all of the one by one, we even use short or tall or big and small to better describe the person if we ask too. Like for example in the group there's only one person eye glasses then we can simply say did you remember that guy wearing eye glasses and etc.Though i guess black people are really sensitive as they already have it in their mind even though now a days we already consider all as the same. Even if im with white people its alright with me if they will describe me as brown girl if that helps for them to better figure out who they are referring too. Besides i didn't see any bad if we used black coz there's really black color and most of the time we are referring to black color and not to black races. It's not that im in favored of white or brown or whatever races, but i just want to say something that we are all the same and we must accept who we are as long as we are not doing bad things. I wouldn't mind if someone called me brown if i know in my heart that im not doing anything that ruined my reputation or hurting other people. I'm saying this coz i used to have black friend before and shes so aloof to us thinking we might not like her, though the fact is we don't like her for being aloof and not because of her color as we don't care what color she is as long as shes human and she can blend with us.

It was maybe not being negative just describing the person , I dont think a black person have a problem with you calling them black . If a group of black people were talking about a white person they would say the same thing , "that white guy' that "Mexican" . Every race do it and we all talk about each other race when describing . Time as change and that is not a big deal anymore from my point of view, love yourself and be proud we are all different on the outside .

Yes your right, world already evolve and everyone is already accepted besides people in America will not choose Obama if they still discriminate black people, though sometimes people are more referring to black color and not the black skin or black people. Though Black are still sensitive they still can't overcome it. I would rather live a happy life than think of something negative. Besides there's so many black people who are now well known in politics and even in modeling and being an actor or actresses isn't enough to prove that we are all the same now, we even used to say it here in our country that black is beautiful.

It's not the way it is. Sometimes it is easier to describe the person that way but it doesn't always mean being racist or discriminating someone. It is how you think that made you feel that way.

hi, your friend maybe misinterpret on what did you say so that she said the black guy because that is what she heard from you, actually it happens in real life that we misunderstood what our friends told to us,so they thought its the color of the skin.

You look at the skin because you are raised like that. We talk about black, white, yellow, red people. But also Asian people talk about white people or black people. The newspaper is doing the same.
