Football vs. Soccer

So the game is originally called football. The word soccer has no existence in Europe, Africa and Asia, not sure about South America and Australia though. I think the latter two call it football as well. But football is known by some other name in North America. Like many other English words they have twisted, like center instead of centre, skejule instead of schedule, etc. They have coined a whole new word for the game of football. They call it soccer. Ironically, the word football exists in American vocabulary as well. But the word has been associated with a whole new ball game, rugby. But to me it makes no sense. As in the game of rugby, the hand is used more than the foot. So how did this happen? From where did the word soccer came into existence? Why should rugby be called football? Which word do you prefer, football or soccer?

After using both words for such a long time, I have gotten used to it being called Football or Soccer. So either words, it still means the beautiful game to me.

One strongly believes that the original name for the game is football and not soccer. It seems the word soccer might have been popularized by the Americans. I am convinced that football existed in the United Kingdom well ahead of its introduction in the United States of America. The Americans have this mentality of always wanting to be the "first" in everything. However, they don't always do it in a way to give credit to others. We know that cricket, for example, is not popular in the United States of America. The only game similar to cricket is baseball. I assume that the game of baseball was started after cricket has existed for many years. We equally know that rugby is not popular in the United States of America. The only game similar to rugby is the American "football"! Of course, the so-called American football is played more by using hands to carry the ball than by using foot to kick the ball! What an aberration! I, personally, have concluded that baseball is bastardized cricket and American football is bastardized rugby. Football is the king of all sports. The American knew that there was no way they could develop another game similar to the true football. That's why they had to change the name from football to soccer. I was privileged to watch one match in the American football (sorry, soccer!) league and discovered that the Americans seem to have introduced some rules beyond those sanctioned by FIFA. This is my own opinion and if I'm wrong I'll be glad if any person can correct me.

It's soccer here in Australia. Perhaps to differentiate it from another more popular sports here referred as 'football'; it's the Australian Rules Football. I think the same idea applies in the States where 'soccer' is commonly used; 'football' to them refers to the American Football, you know, the NFL...

I think any word or pr obviously both games are different and possibly Rugby and football are known as football, but the meaning is different because it uses rugby footbal it does not use the foot, while the football using feet. I Want pikri names footbal or soccer which is important for using the rules of the game of football.
