Found a part time job on Craigslist for typing!!

I recently posted an ad on Craigslist that I was looking for data entry typing work part time that I could do from home. I got a college student wanting me to type up her recorded lectures for her each week. She's asking how much I would charge and I have no idea what to tell her. She's a college student with a tight budget so I said we could negotiate something. Regardless am happy to have a nice side job!

Craigslist is not a scam site. For things like this though you really need to be careful. I mostly use craigslist to sell things though. There are a lot of different uses you can get out of the site it just depends on what you want.

It is great to know you were able to find a typing job. It is hard to find legitimate typing job. I may suggest to you to ask for 3 cents per word, which is very respectable in typing job. Also as you have mentioned the student has a tight budget, you should not ask for something that she may find hard to accept. you might want to check how clear the recording is, how many people are speaking, do they speak over each other, are there background noises, technical glitches in the recording, do they speak clearly, slowly, do they have an accent, and i guess most importantly, how simple or complex is the topic and could you easily research any words that are unfamiliar to you. good luck!

I am hoping that it will work out for you as that would be a great little part time gig. I say that you should say 5 cents per word? It's half of what people usually ask for, ten cents I believe is the normal. It's really up to you but you don't want to ask for too little either.

I think it is great that you found a part time job on Craigslist and am hoping that you will make some extra cash. I think it is great that you are taking into consideration that she is a struggling college student and that money is so tight. I wish you the best of luck.

That is great news that you found something even if it is part-time. As for a fee that is the hard part being it is a college student.I hope you find a fee that you both agree on and are happy with.

Wow! That's great. Congratulations. It's pretty cool that you found a legit part-time online job. Since I'm not familiar with typing jobs, I don't know what a good rate to charge would be. I'm sure you and her could work out something though. Congrats again, and best wishes.
