I Lost my eyeglasses!

United States

I did on monday! I could not find them for the life of me! I had fallen asleep with them on. I do that alot. I took them off when I was sleeping but I could not remember were! Usually when I wake up I put my glasses in the bathroom or by my computer. When i could not find my glasses I found my spares and wore them all day. That night I found my good pair! They were laying inbetween my recliner and a laundry basket I had left on the floor! It figues when you aren't looking you find what you are looking for! Never fails!

Oh, totally agree with you! My husband thought he lost or someone stole his wallet. We had been looking all over every where and we had almost given up hope. Then the other day I was going through my duffel bag and decided to see what was in the side pocket. Low and behold, there was my husbands wallet!! You always find something the last place you look!

so when you found it and gave it to him, did you remember the day when you or he put it there?

Sometimes I do find something I misplaced the last place I looked! If not I am finding things I lost when I am not looking for it! LOL! Then there are things I never have found that I lost! That drives me crazy!

Yes,we did remember when we put it there, but it wasn't the scenarios that we had currently thought it was when we were searching for it! We thought it was in our vehicles or that I had put it in my purse. We even thought that someone stole it, but no, we just misplaced it, but when I found it I'm like yeah I remember it like it happened yesterday. When I found it and gave it to him I told him how it got there and he was like oh, yeah that's right. Too bad we didn't remember sooner!

Money! My mother likes to hide some bills, and then she forgets about it, and then she finds it in her wallet, in a hidden place, back some photos or cards. These is very useful to her. I´m the kind anxious, and I have a house helper, so if I cann´t find something I (we) look at it til I(we) find it. We were glasses, but the last time, the cat threw my sons glasses, we have to buy him new ones, but with my glasses I suspected again of the cat... guess what? They were at the trashbasket. Because the window near my pc where we used to place our glasses was in the "catway" and she threw them. But I found mines! Blessings blue65packer... dainy

There was a funny cat, filmed by discovery channel, who used to pick lot of things from the neighborhood, by night (of course). Everything that you can imagine... towels, toys, glasses, bras, shoes, plush toys, slippers. The owner has to make an open garage show, to show to the neighbors the retrieved things. So they can pick them home. Look at you tube for the "the thief cat- klepto kitty" It`s so funny.lol Blessings blue65packer... dainy

Never heard of cats hiding or taking glasses! I don't have any paets so i can't blame them when i lose something! There have been other things I have lost and never found! I know I accidently threw out a money order I needed to use to apy a bill for! I also think I did that when I once lost $12.00 worth of scratch off lottery tickets! I hope I never do this with with my glasses!

i know someone who hides bills around the house, too, but one day, she noticed a deduction in the amount she keeps in a small paper bag and thinks maybe the helper saw it while looking for something to plastic or paper bag to carry something. oh, my, you have a naughty cat there. she doesn't seem to like eyeglasses. are there other items in the house that she likes to pick up and throw in the trash as well?

Always back track and try to remember when/where you had something. It helps to narrow down where something could be. You don't want to have a misplaced item somewhere that it should not be for too long. This will make it possible for someone to acquire the item for his or her own use. Be aware of such lost item areas such as the lost in found section of a public place. Sometimes you can ask someone such as management in a restaurant or someone will wait for your return to pick up the item. Not everything lost is a lost cause, but thank goodness you found your glasses.

That happens to me a lot as well. We cannot always see what is in our face. It is like the item is playing a game with us.

Good thing you found them in good condition, I remember when I lot mine, I found it under my sheets right after I accidentally sat down on it. I also wear glasses when I'm at home and contacts when going out. Last night, I forgot to put my glasses in its case and inside my purse where I usually keep them. This morning I found it beside my pillow. Thank goodness I didn;t accidentally roll onto it during my sleep.

When I have a vacation, relation is my priority. Sometimes I chat with my friends about daily life. I may enjoy my free time at home watching TV. I buy fruit and vegetable cooking for my family. If I feel boring, travelling around the city is my choice.hahha

My dad has things like that happen...usually it was his billfold or one of his swiss army knives. The had three and usually at least two of them would be missing...most of the time the culprit was his chair.....I think it ate alot of his missing articles and they were only found when something really important was missing.

I don't lose or replace things alot. Once inwhile I misplace my work hats and my sneakers! I have lost bills but always have found them before the payment would be late! Car keys, too! Luckily I have two sets so if I missplace one I have another! If I was a bit more organized I probaly wouldn't missplace or lose things! lol!

LOL my husband used to do this all the time luckily he had a spare too. His famous thing was to leave them right on the floor beside the couch when he fell asleep them one of us would walk by in the morning and not see them and step on them or he would step on his own. He had to have them repaired so many times good thing they were covered under insurance. I always told him when he took them off to just push them under the couch it would have solved the problem but he always forgot.

Oh I must have said that wrong his were under warranty as well he bought the extended warranty so he would get 2 years out of the glasses he paid for if I remember right. After two years they make you take another eye test and then his prescription would always worsen a little and he would need new glasses anyway. His last pair of glasses were like $400 and he was buried with them.

I have no eye insurenace so if I break my glasses, after my one year warrenty runs out at Walmart,I have to pay for it myself! That happen last summer when I broke my frames! They just broke! I didn't sit on them or step on them! It was weird! I had to buy new fames because they couldn't fix the old ones! i was not happy about that!

This happens to me too and I get so cross with myself I always keep my old glasses just in case I lose the current pair like you do. I cannot wear contacts as I am unable to touch my eyes. I tried and tried and the store where I was buying them said that I was their first failure! I went to the shop two years later and they remembered me and said that I was still their first failure. So glad that you found them as they are a big expense

The tropuble with losing your glasses is that you cannot see well to find them! That is a double frustration. It happens to me too so I try to remember to put them in the same place at night, but during the day I just put them down anywhere. It makes me feel old if I have to ask my husband to look for my glasses. I have a friend who has lost her dentures, and she is a lot younger than I am. It is another one of those night time things when she took them off and then woke up and they weren't there. That's how she remembers it anyway. Glasses and dentures are extremely expensive things to replace too. As for finding things when you aren't looking for them well that is a nice surprise.

I once could not find my glasses for like a week. I looked everywhere for them! I then gave up after a day or so! Like a week later I found my glasses when I was going to water my plants! I have plant near my recliner and I put my glasses in there and had not remembered doing it! That is the weirdest place I have left my glasses to date!
