Confused? Actually I am confused as well. These past few days I have read and heard robbery/thief crime here in our place. One official (police) says that, this is the season of crime He (police official) says that, as the Christmas season is coming, the robbery/thief crime increases. (huh, really?) Again, I wonder if this is also happening in other part of the globe...(^_^) Have a great week everyone jaiho® - I miss another event 9-24-2012 5:58pm Monday PT

Hi Jai! I do not about season of crime.. I live in a metropolitan city and crime do take place everyday. As there are good people in society, there are bad people (read criminals) in society. They commit crime mainly for money and to take revenge and criminals do not have any sympathy with anyone. The number of criminals is more than the Police and Police do not catch everyone. Moreover, law of land are such that it is difficult to punish every criminal within a given time frame.

Yes, every citizen should be vigilance and careful. Our carelessness results in crimes.

hello dpk, I agree, that criminals outnumbered the police and military men. Well, then, every citizen needs to be vigilant and become a crime buster

The policemen can say that jaiho, because it is at this time of the year when criminality indeed proliferate. Maybe it's because the robbers would also like to have a joyous Christmas and be able to give gifts to their children. But seriously, maybe it's because this is the time when the people will be starting to receive their bonuses. Thus, the robbers have a lot also to get from them, that being so.

Not just in place, actually. Also in our neighboring places. If not daily, killing occurs from time to time that people aren't shocked anymore. I actually planned to write an article about this. How about you? What is your point of view concerning these crimes? They say the people who are killed are scalawags or garbage of the society. Do you condone killing for such reason?

Sorry to hear of the crime increase. Fortunately in my area there is little as we all know each other and there is always a lady or two who seem never to sleep and if somebody is lurking around they will start making noise and then the neighborhood dogs will take over.

Yes, it happens here in the USA. The police warn people to never, never leave their house with the drapes open showing the Christmas tree with wrapped presents under it. I used to wrap empty boxes (or maybe put a rock or some dirt or rags in it) to put under the tree. The real presents would be locked away until the last day . This fooled the kids and would have fooled any burglars, if we had had any.

I don't know yet because we're new in our area. Although it is with heavy heart to say that we were victims to crime today. Someone took our tricycle WHILE IT WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE! The audacity of the thief! It's been a long day running from police station to barangay office to the place we suspect could have been the place the tryc was kept. But, no tryc.

I know, right? I regret moving into that house. Into that city, actually. Although in fairness to the police and barangay officials, they were really helpful and they coordinated well.

We have a crime rate season in a sense in the city/area I live in. It would seem that you can tell when it is getting warmer outside by the amount of crime that tends to go on. Then when it starts to get colder the crime rate seems to go down dramatically. During Christmas here, more people get killed rushing in for sales to certain places.

During Eid festival infests of snatchers or pickpocketers or extortionists increases. Those bad people has a liason maintaining which they goes on doing their ill activities mainly in capital city area. Another bad people are there in my country raises money from the shops, rich officials, industrialists or from contractors per month as monthly donation. If some one denies to donate the he has to face a great physical or economical loss done by the bad people very soon. Police also shares the money. People are to remain always helpless.

If you go few years ago, Tomato was a seasonal crop which grows in a particular season but what is nowadays, the technology is developed and we can grow tomato in any season. The same thing is true with the crime.

Here in Chicago, the murder rate triples during the summer season. When its nice and hot outside, more people are out and more crimes occur.

well I did not look up the information but that makes sense the Christmas season is a time when people want things and it is also the time when thieves know that people have bought lots of presents so yes it is a golden opportunity for thieves to steal during the Christmas season. It would be the same here as well.

The Christmas season, here in the USA is full of stress, more shopping for gifts, muchmore money spent, many activities going on, people who would be more careful of their posessions have divided attention and overlook their normally saftey habits.

Jai sis, i think there won't be much difference in my area here compare to your area. Everyday, we can read in the newspaper, all kinds of crime being happened. Usually when the festival season is around the corner, more many kind of crimes can be heard. Even i see the police get busy patrolling the road, especially when festival season is nearby. That's why, we must be very careful especially when we want to leave our home especially during those festival season. To make sure that we won't be the next target of robbery and unwanted crime. Do take care always and hope you have a nice weekend...

Well maybe there's just this norm that people would like to serve something special for the holidays or to maybe give gifts.. Even the poor people here in the Philippines would considerably spend a little extra for the holidays. Maybe instead of the usual salt-and-rice meal, they would have instant noodles. It has become an unspoken demand I guess.. Too bad..
