When I was living with my uncle, we used to buy the 10 gallon mineral water from No Frills all the time. I have come across some articles that mineral water causes kidney stones, upset stomach and even constipation. In my 1 year of stay with my uncle, I have never felt any of these symtoms. Maybe because it is just developing. I hope not. Now that I am living with my family, I am wondering if i should by a mineral water and the dispenser. Or would we be better of just drinking water from the tap. Maybe just use a Brita water filter. Do you guys have any comment with regards to this subject. Let me know. Thanks

Mineral water isn't that good for your health. It is better to drink tap water. If your water supply isn't that great get a water filter that fits on the faucet. Never, and I mean never drink distilled water...that will dehydrate your system extremely fast and cause a lot of heath issues.

This will depend on your local water supply. Mineral water are costly and detrimental to the environment because of plastic bottles. If you have a clean water supply like we have then by all means tap water is better.

I always prefer to get mineral water to tap water because it tastes a lot better. Where I come from, the water is all very clean but this means that you can sometimes taste the cleaner still in the water which, while harmless, isn't exactly the nicest thing to have to taste. I will sometimes drink tap water, for example if I am mixing it with cordial, and I will always use tap water when I am boiling it for some reason. But I don't like drinking it on its own because it doesn't taste too great, and the mineral water that I drink just tastes beautiful!

I much prefer bottled mineral water. I think it tastes better and is generally more refreshing.

Hi Muelitz! I would prefer the bottled water because in our place, the water coming from the faucet usually have rust and not very safe for drinking purposes. We have been buying water from the water refilling stations in our place.

Hello Muelitz.. the advantages of Mineral water is that..the contains of it is natural because the sources maybe from underground spring water or etc.. This means that it has nutritions which is good for our body.. If you buy a mineral water..you can see at the back of the label saying about the nutritions such as calcium, sodium and etc.. For tap water..the origin of it is from recycled water which once being used by other people such as from the sewage and etc.. the water is treated many times using so many chemicals and processes which the end product is just suitable for drinking.. I think that Mineral water is the best option..but it is a bit costly rather than tap water..but still..it has its benefits.. Hope this helps..:)
