First off you don't need to be married to have kids that is for sure. Yes kids are expensive but there are ways to cut down the coast one is buying things second hand or doing hand me downs. Me and my husband we two kids both unplanned but we do hand me downs or buy second hand for the both of them. Our daughter is the only girl so family tends to buy her a lot of new things and we will buy what she needs not what she wants and the good thing is she is only 20 months old. Yes medical can be expensive but we are able to get government assistance so right now we don't have to worry about there medical expenses.

It helps that we live on a small income. Some times not every often they will get what they want like for their birthdays. If it's afford able we will think about getting but that doesn't always happen.

I think I might change your question into, How much TIME do you spend for your children? I do agree with your colleague that raising up a child money are not enough to pay for the growth of children/s. For me, being a mother of 2, up bringing is more important. Clothes, foods medical attentions and shelter, and education are the NEEDS of every family household, so it is automatic that if you had a child you have to think of ways to give those NEEDS to them. But those NEEDS are just part of their growth. For me TIME is of most important for them to have a MUCH BETTER Growth. If you spend quality time for them they are more secured for everything, gaining more self-confident and self-worth and courage to face life. Raising child specially these days are so difficult because of some media, internet etc. They imitate what they see. So, if you have no time for them one of these days at their early age maybe they are one of those teenage mother or father. ^_^ Happy Mylotting!

I don't count on how much for my son every month, but I know it is much. Basically he has English class and piano class and it charges nearly USD350 every month. Besides, I often buy him books and sometimes toys. And every weekend we will go out to have the outdoor activities and have a meal in the restaurants. It is also a big charge. And don't forget the clothes and travel costs. So you can see having a child costs you an arm and foot

I think that it can be quite hard when you have a new child, because you want to get them everything that you can. However, one of the things that you have to remember is that the baby will grow out of its clothes so quickly that it doesn't really make all that much sense to be spending a lot, so you're better buying as little as you can so that you can save it until later on in that child's life. I would try not to spoil my child, but would rather spend the money giving him/her a good quality of life, doing things such as go on holidays and things like that for example.

I would definitely say that it costs several thousand dollars each and every year to raise children. However, I love my children with all of my heart and there is nothing that I wouldn't do for them. They are wonderful and they are worth every dime that I have ever spent on them. In many ways, I know that I don't spend as much money on my children as some parents do because of the fact that I tend to make very frugal decisions when it comes to things for them. For example, I will buy my children used clothes because it saves a lot of money. They don't complain about it though.

To raise the children is bery funny, but spend your lots time and money. Not only clotes and medicine. If the children, you should care them in hospital. In hospital, spend money as the water current. You'd better have a prepare with your growing plan.
