Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-1 to tighten their position at the top!!

Chelsea handed Arsenal their first loss of the season beating them 2-1. In a real tight game where both teams created a lot of chances, Torres opened the scoring from a set piece with a well taken goal. Arsenal equalized just before the break via Gervinho. But then in the second half after creating a host of chances, Arsenal conceded a soft free kick. Mata's freekick was nudged into the goal by Koscielny to hand the lead back to Chelsea. After that it was the Peter Cech show as he brought about two brilliant saves to keep Chelsea in the lead. In the injury time, though Giroud missed the chance of the match and could not put the ball into a goalkeeper less goal after rounding Cech!! The result means that currently Chelsea are 4 points clear at the top which the other teams are yet to play. Cheers! Ram

GO CHELSEA!!! I am not really a hardcore supporter like hooligans.. I just watch it for the pleasure of it and enjoy how they manage to slowly using tactics and skills to put the ball at the back of the net.. I hope this good reputation of chelsea will maintain until the end of the season.. :)

I think the brand of football that Chelsea is playing this year is pretty good and pleasing on the eye. The induction of Hazard has made the team very creative up front. And Torres starting to score goals really helps Chelsea a lot. Cheers! Ram

Actually I thought the linkup play between Mata and Hazard was excellent yesterday and that was causing a lot of problems for Arsenal. Of course, Mata was better on the day compared to Hazard. Cheers! Ram

eden hazard play normally, iam not impressed his performance..but Juan Mata plays very good..he are inspirator last night..his free kick always makes trouble for Arsenal defender..I don`t know what`s happen with the defender after Diaby get injured..

i can say that Arsenal lost their focus..how come they didn`t give the special attention to the free kick like that... I think Vita mannone slow reaction and his coordination with Koscielny and Vermaelen becomes one of the factor why arsenal lost tonight i don`t think that Chelsea plays superb..They are lucky because Arsenal gives too many spot for Chelsea.. I can say that man of the match is Juan Mata..He is smart see the blank side between Manonne and Koscielny...you can see how Chelsea need a good forward, Torres is nothing..Yes, that he scores the first goal, but he waste 1 good chance when he goes down without interruption from Koscielny and it waste the good spot for shooting.. cech plays good too..He makes 3 several important for saving the winning for his team..1 from header of Podolski..2 from Giroud..unlucky time for Giroud..He have a chance for making his first goal in EPL, but Cech plays superb tonight.. Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs play very poorly... Only Santi Cazorla play good in Arsenal squad tonight..

The partnership between Mata and Hazard was terrific for Chelsea. I think Arsenal's old problem with set pieces seems to have come back with three goals in the last two premier league matches conceded from free kicks. Giroud continues to frustrate the Arsenal fans and his miss really would not help his confidence. Cheers! Ram

Giroud is unlucky last night.Petr cech play awesome..2 of the chance from Giroud, and one from Podolski..it`s 90 percent to be goal.But that is the world class goalkeeper..he block the ball.. Arsenal really miss RVP last night..I can say that if they have RVP, they maybe win last night..too much the ball of RVP last night and can be converted to be goal by RVP

Yes, Cech was on great form, but Giroud should still have scored the last chance with Cech beaten. Coming over to RVP, the jury is out. There is a feeling now that with RVP out, the team is playing better as a team as there is no single individual who is outstanding. So unlike previously where if RVP was out of form, it was difficult for Arsenal to score, now there are more people involved who can score goals for the team. Cheers! Ram

Yep, it is still early times in the season. But this season it would be very difficult for Arsenal if they keep losing these kind of critical matches against top teams. Cheers! Ram
