The Ryder Cup Is On TV And Hubby STILL Falls Asleep!

I don't get it! John falls asleep on a Saturday night when the telly is boring, I can understand that. Now, he's had Friday off in order to go to KP's funeral, so you would think that tiredness wouldn't affect him today, what with the Ryder Cup being on telly, something he loves. But, no, 3 pints at the footy game today has put paid to that (he has a free ticket through work). That is NOTHING for a bloke..3 pints of beer. So why is he asleep? I really don't know. I hope Europe lose now lol. By the way, we can go hours with no words spoken, just because he's asleep. Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here.

Watching little golf balls being hit is enough to send anyone to sleep. One pint sends me off why do you think that three wouldn't? Most men don't drink like that very often, one pint after another. You must mix with a very boozy (and wealthy if they routinely drink that much) crowd. LOL. Wake him up and make him do something! We men exist to serve and entertain you ladies!

I've been guilty of watching the last day of the Ryder Cup with him and I got really into it...mainly 'cos the Europeans WON! Woohoo!

I would welcome John to the club! I used to fall asleep at boring things on the telly, but now, even if there's something that I'm really interested in, I will still fall asleep and then be kicking myself for missing the end! It is becoming a bit of a joke here especially when we were sitting at the dining table (if is part of our lounge) watching TV and eating a meal - as you do - when I feel asleep on a dining chair! If I remember, I record programs as I am watching them if I am feeling particularly tired. If I stay awake, I can delete them, but if I fall asleep I can rewind! Also there have been several occasions when I have been watching on computer the following morning! TV is so addictive! Why should I worry whether or not I missed something? I never used to! I remember my Dad used say that a big waste or time TV was.. Well those black and white sets with just 2 channels probably were back in the day! _Derek

I know, all those channels..so little time! Oh well, at least John didn't fall asleep today as the golf has been really good..mainly 'cos the Europeans won an improbably victory. I'm so chuffed!

Ryder Cup? That's either tennis or golf, right? Both pretty boring if you ask me.

You're the cook and housekeeper. Didn't you know? Maybe he's gotten all relaxed with the extra day off so that even a game won't keep him awake. You could give him a nudge and a poke every so often and update him on the game.

men falling asleep in front of the television is, i think, a very common problem. i have no answer to the problem, but if you are bored when he's asleep the best solution is to find something to do that you find interesting. i was never a great television watcher, so it was while my ex husband was watching television or out at work in the evening, that i learnt to play the guitar. there are loads of options these days, and if you find something interesting enough to do it might wake him up.

Perhaps I could buy a trombone, do you think that would do the trick?

yes! brilliant idea, as once you could play it you could join the salvation army band, and then i bet he would be complaining about you going out with your friends too often!
