How do people earn from blogging?

They don't earn enough to depend on unless they write a lot and have a lot of 'subscribed readers' (true friends, I think they are) and write about popular topics (a newly updated list of which you can find if you "Search the Web" (at the top of every myLot-page) for 'Yahoo! buzzlist' I think).
I mean, I 'blog for money'; but I can't get enough readers to earn myself a 'full-time' income (and thankfully I don't have to "survive" on the few hundred I get every few months 
)
(Of course, if you can find somebody who'll HIRE you to write--on a contract, with a sizable salary--you could do THAT

Blogging is a waste of time IF YOU'RE TRYING TO MAKE MONEY (unless you're already popular like Jimmy Fallon or Tina Fey).
If you blog for what blogging was originally for--to post links to cool websites & facts you find on the Internet--then blogging is as good as 'taking a page from your diary & posting it on the community-bulletin board.'
And yes, myLot is better than creating a blog.

Thanks for the realization. I know it does not earn much because it would depend on other important factors. Are you saying it is just a waste of time?

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to make a blog and monetize it. I was thinking that it will be difficult and will take a lot of time for it to become a blog. Before starting, I wanted to make sure that it is worth it. Maybe I'll just waste my time.

If you are passionate about blogging, You can always opt for blogging. You will enjoy every moment of it and eventually you see money coming from your blogs. I also started blogging like that. At the beginning I did not make much but as the time is passing, passive income from my blog is also increasing. That's quite impressive according to my opinion.

Blogging is the one of the good way you can earn a lot of money if you have a good number hits. Placing the adds in your blog is the one of the best way to get money in your hands. The thing you have to do is just update your blog with good constants to get more visitors. The will stay on your hands

The tedious thing is that you must update your blog constantly to attract a lot of readers. But I wonder how do they incorporate to earning money with a blog.
