Raza: The New Kid In The Block

So it was a phenomenal match. As Hafeez said, Pak should've scored some more. He said they targeted 150 runs. Of course with a strong batting line up like India's, you need as much as possible if you're the opponent team. Anyways, the discussion is about Raza Hasan. The new kid. Just 20 years old and already turning the ball like a pro. I think he has prospect. The first 2 overs of his spell were a beauty. The only thing that I didn't like about him was his attitude. If you notice in the 2nd over as he was bowling to Kohli and Kohli missed it or defended it, I can't remember, Raza started abusing. I did not like it. I mean he was doing so good. But this attitude of his, leaves a bad taste on me. Kohli on the other hand, didn't even looked at him. He remained focused, kept his cool and let his bat do all the talking. So my personal take on Raza is that he is talented. Will be dangerous if he ripes with time. But he needs to be more focused on the game than running his mouth. He should learn to make his bowl do the talking, which he is capable of. So my current take on him is that he has a future, but lacks sportsmanship. Your opinion?

I think like all Pakistani bowlers Raza is very talented. I think with the talent that Pakistan has, if a bowler has to break into the playing XI he has to be exceptional and that is the case with Raza as well. But he still has to learn a lot and his captain has to have more confidence in him. It was really naive of Hafeez to remove the slip in the second over itself and Kohli edged one to four of Raza. Of course, India-Pakistan matches are really charged up encounters so the emotions tend to burst and as a youngster he let his emotions flow a bit. I think with time he will learn to reign it in.

I'm a fan of some Pak bowlers as well. Akram has been one of my favourites since my childhood. I agree with you on the emotional part. But I think it was an issue of overconfidence. Has he had been successful in scalping Gambhir, he thought everything would be easy and as a result, such bad mannerism. I cannot support the act of abusing a senior, in the name of aggression. Kohli is indeed a youngster himself, but senior to Raza. Good day!

Well of course it was a great match from the cricket point of view. Although it was a one sided affair completely, the match lived up to its hype as it was expected. It was disappointing to see Pakistan surrendering the match in such a way giving even giving a fight. Now it would be exciting to watch what happens next as both India and Pakistan are tied for one victories each. Yes Raza has shown promise and hope he will emerge as a good bowler for Pakistan but the real stars of the match were Yuvi and Kohli.

No words to describe Kohli. He's the man now. The form he is showing in every format of the game, he'll soon be listed with the legends sooner or later. Not to forget that he has many years of sports left in hand. He has been a class act in the last 1 year. No wonder that he received an ICC award. As for Raza, he still needs to go through a lot even to reach the same levels as Ajmal. Forget comparing him with the likes of Saqlain. But he is talented and young. Should emerge as a dependable bowler some day. Good day!

The spinner Raza bowls very well. He is a new player of Pakistan but he behaves like a good spinner specialist with good caliber and experience. I had noticed that he has doing the bowling with good basics of turning the ball on both the directions. Along with it he has an ability to add a extra turn to the ball which can put the batsmen in special. In the match I had found out many mistakes in the fielding. He has missed some the the bowls in the field which he could get it correctly. This is the one of the mistake I had found out.
