I happened to see my second eldest son the other day, scratching his head and at the same time having a wide grin on his face. Asked him what his problem, and replied that he was making a "love letter". Out of curiosity on his thoughts being written down on paper, i asked him if i could read and kidded that maybe i could help out, lol! Surprisingly, I found the letter to be intensely romantic, lol! more than i have written one when i was younger... As i talked to my wife about him, she went to her drawer and pulled out the "love letters" i made! Reading it out loud, we were both laughing about how "corny" I was those days, but i know deep inside she really love it, lol! One thing is for sure, once you're in love, the inspiration of making a love letter is quite a breeze. How about you, do you remember having done one or getting one?

So cute.. :) Your son is very lucky to have you as father. In india nobody dares to tell this to father. Because father will shoot his son. Lol.. But its true. Now everybody forgot about love letter. Because of extreme use of email and sms.

Hmmm just three days ago, I read a sweet messages on his twitter page haha. For sure twitter contacts also read his love messages. Well, modern techs makes almost everything fast, before I read those messages others had first.

A father shooting a son for making a love letter, lol! I would probably give my son a ballpoint pen and dozens of stationary to keep him writing down his feelings and emotions.. Emails and text messages are cheaper, though, lol! Thanks for the kind response.

The sweet old days of love letters:) I'm so glad to hear your son making a love letter. And I thought you're a cool dad because he told you that he is making one. It's really rare for teenagers these days to be making love letters. And, yeah, it's really funny when, after so many years, we come across our love letters. It is as if we still feel our emotions back the time when we made/received the love letter. Cheers!

Thanks for branding as a cool dad, LOL! Really appreciate it, as my son really considers me as a friend and much more as a father... Though i know it is an intimate issue that dwells on his feelings for a girl, he trusted me in just reading his thoughts, but i think actually he was just asking for my unsolicited advice, lol!

I can still remember guys giving me love letters but I never kept them. But when I met my husband at 2005, we started making letters though email and text messages are in. It's romantic, and I know it's very corny. But I still enjoy reading them. It's like an album written in a paper, why? Whenever you read them, memories come alive.

That's definitely true, reminiscing how it was back then, lol! I was really surprised that i even wrote silly corny things, lol! The best part is I know what i felt that time and how intense were my emotions to write it down on paper and giving it to her. Thanks.

I think that it is a shame that nobody writes love letters to each other anymore, because they were things that were so lovely to be able to keep. I have a long term partner at the moment and I would write letters to him in the past. I can't say that he ever wrote any back, because he is quite lazy and is the type of person who would always just read my letters and then reply to them via text rather than actually sending me a letter back. I guess that's just the type of world that we're living in now, and there isn't all that much that we can do about that.

That's why i am surprised to see my son doing one, lol! He could have simply e-mail or text his thoughts, but he would rather choose to write them down, stating it is far more romantic, lol! thanks for the response.

I use to write love letters for sale Sounds odd I think ,but yes that's true. I write love letters for sale,it started when my classmate asks me to write a love letter for her crush. I love writing poems, so this classmate approached me and convinced me that hard that I must write a love letter since he believed that my poems are really good. Since then, it became my job (hahaahha)

Whoaaa, lol! I also did some love letters for my friends back in college with around 75% of approval, and the 25% all ended up being my girlfriends, lol! Seriously though, it was really awesome to see a real good friend, actually a childhood friend, who married his wife who fell in love with him with me doing his love letters.

something nice. Honestly speaking , i have not written a love letter myself and i really have not read anyone's either. There were times when i was in school and i used to work at my uncles shop in the school holidays. and there were boys lining up near the shop....couple of time they have tried to pass some paper something written on it but when it reached me, I had thrown it in the bin without reading it....cos i knew it was not my time for all that since I was in school. It is interesting to see youngsters writing love letters in the era of emails and phone ans text messages. Something really romantic. wonder he is gone on you. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Yeah, that's the surprising part with the advent of email and text messages, and yet he is putting it on paper just like in my wonder years. Probably like father, like son that is being a hopeless romantic, lol! Thanks for the response... have a nice day too!

What a romantic son you have! I'm sure the girl he is writing the letter to would be so happy when she reads it... When the feelings are mutual between the couple, those letters would be cherished forever... That's why your wife still keep them after all these years...

He keeps on surprising me, as you know with the advent of the cellphone, email, social media networks, he was stuck on writing a love letter, lol! And yes i agree with you about the wife keeping them as she wants to cherish that moment when we were young and foolish, lol!

My husband isn't romantic, and the very few cards he gave me contained very few lines. I can still remember how he struggles whenever he tries to tell me how he feels. I find it cute and so sincere, because they say that when a guy is really in live with you, it's so hard for him to find the right words to say because they keep on thinking how not to mess it up.

I have been a hopeless romantic ever since, and you are right about the part of finding the right words to write down. As far as i can remember, the trash can in my bedroom in those days were always full with love letters that seemed to be not right, lol!

I was also smiling when I read this. I can still remember the way of courting a girl, that is writing a love letter. I missed the old days for that. Have a great day!

Me too! I could remember the inspiration, the enthusiasm and especially the expectations of what she would feel after reading my love letter. Yeah, you're right, those were the days...
