The coffee table broke the other night.

We got it for free 2 years ago. It was a 2 level glass table with metal legs. I wanted to start a fire in the fire place, so my husband went to move his coffee table. As soon as he did, 2 of the legs broke off!!! I knew it was going to happen at some point, it was shaky as it was and we never moved it unless we really needed to. So off we went to Ikea yesterday to replace it as well as my wobbly table. We picked 2 of them up, and then just before going to the checkout, I suggested that we check out the as-is section. When we got there, we found the same table, already set up for a cheaper price. The sticker on it said that it was scratched or chipped, but I didn't find anything of the sort. So instead of paying full price, we got $6 off of that one. What a good deal, and I'm glad we went to that particular Ikea when we did.

I am glad you found a deal on something you liked. I have never been to Ikea. Are they reasonable on their prices?

Quite reasonable for many items. The coffee tables we got are $25 full price, the discounted one was $19. And they are a good size, and have a shelf for storage under the main part. All of their furniture is easy to put together as well.

Glad to hear that you found a discount for something that was already set up. Good thing you checked the as is stuff. Minor scratch or chip might not have been too difficult to repair anyway.

I also wouldn't mind getting a slightly chipped item or stained as long as I didn't have to pay full price for it, or I will be given more useful freebies to go with it. For me as long as it can still function and serve its purpose, that's so fine.
