Buying a house

I am in the Army, now Reserves, but am wanting to buy a house. Since I recently just got home not too long ago, I have had a lot of people been checking my credit. knowing that every time this happens that my credit goes down, i know my credit isn't the best. I've only had my car loan on there which i paid off about 8 months ago after having it for only about 6 months. Also have a loan for a engagement ring which is getting paid off soon. I just got a credit card and started using it and paying it off asap. I've never had a late fee or anything. How would I go about getting a mortgage, using a VA loan and something called like the FHA loan or something? thank you.

I am sorry if I won't be of much help here as I don't really know much about getting a mortgage there. I just can't help noticing you sound so mature for your age. And as far as I can tell, you seem to be doing all the right things for your future already. So just keep up the good work and all the best!

Thank you so much. That means more to me than you will ever know. I'm going to keep looking for answer and hopefully get on the fast track and right track.
