Ecology - it necessarily promotes care and protection of nature. Most economic developmental plans envisage this ultimate principle. Let rains make its downpour in timely intervals.Let vegetation on earth prosper fully. Let peace and tranquility come back to life in abundance. Let good citizens work without fear and malice for the welfare of entire humanity.
The MANTRA depicted is several years old. The concept could definitely be made practical with some sort of effort. Our ancestors have emphasized utility of natural resources to its full extent. It is absolutely necessary to to raise production of agricultural output if at all we have to fight back shortage of food supplies.

Yes, all should take good care of the earth as it is our home, and not just ours but all the animals and creatures also. Sometimes I think this is the life of doing everything wrong, so we can learn (the hard way) all that does not work well.
