Is God perfect or does He make mistakes?

The Bible says "In the beginning God" and Jesus is called "the firstborn of aLL creation", then it's recorded all other things were created through and by Jesus (by God the Father and Jesus, the Son, I take it as working together) and the angels were created first. For they were there at the creation of the universe. So my question is, one which came to me during prayer, why did God wait so very long only creating the universe and man and woman, not only after the first bound to occur rebel thought occurred, as it happened in high angel Lucifer, but after that thought had fully matured into outright trickery and sedition? Didn't God know what would happen? I say bound to occur, for thinking ability includes the ability to make choices. - Any thought on this? Why do you think God waited (long because when there was 'only' the Father, the Son, and the angels, there doesn't seem there would be that much to go astray about).. And only created the universe and man and woman after Lucifer had become a rebel in his heart? Seeing as God is said to know all things.. and "the end from the beginning"..?

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Well i have always believed that God is perfect and that nothing is perfect except God. He always does fair things and takes unbiased decisions and that is the reason they are God. We have no right in pointing our fingers to them as whatever happens, happens for the good. He is the only perfect thing in this whole universe. What say?

Did God know such would happen? Yes, God is omniscient. But God is outside time being eternal, not everlasting This infinite beingness is beyond the capacity of our finite minds to comprehend, however perhaps you can look at it this way. God exists at all moments in time simultaneously (simultaneous from his perspective) Thus, he can know, at the moment that event took place, it may not be in his consciousness prior to that Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of Mankind is Man all the best, urban

I do not believe he made a mistake. I believe that this is how we achieve "free will" there has to be both side.

Amen! People (some people) question God, say IF there is God why is there suffering? I think it's quite obvious, because mankind has made it so! With help, as demonstrated in Eden. I always want to ask those folks, would you rather be like a robot and life like an ant farm?

I think, they think, the world should be like the Garden of Eden. But the Bible shows what happened there. If the world was still like that, we wouldn't be here. This is what free will gave us, but it also separates the true believers from the fair weather friends.

God wants to be loved by man by his own free will. Even though God is omniscience and knows Satan will lead many away from Him, he also knows there are those who love Him in spite of the temptations of Satan. They will not be persuaded towards anything but the love of God.

God told Jeremiah that he knew him before the foundation of the world. To paraphase it, Jeremiah lived with God, and God knew him before he created the earth. With this, liken to us. We lived with God before the world was created too. We could basically be the angles you are talking about. Lucifer, during the creation of the earth rebelled and was cast out in to the earth and is not allowed to come to the earth and gain a phyical body, like us, and will not have it resurrected with him in the after life. He and the angels that followed him did not keep their first estate so their will not be added upon. The other thing about this is there need to be opposition of all things. We are sent to this earth, not only to gain a body, but to be tested and learn to follow the good and not the wrong. Lucifer is the influence of wrong on us. We cannot grow without this opposition and the capability to learn. With this, our Heavenly Father knew that we would all fall, so Jesus was set up to be a savior for us. He would provide an perfect atonement that would take upon him our sins an failurs, and if we follow him, we can be forgiven of our short comings. These things were all planned by the perfect knowledge of our loving Heavenly Father. He is perfect, and wants us to become perfect as he is. He has provided away, we only have find the path and stay on it. When we stray, we need to repent and come back to it.

Lotterylover He tries to make it look like he has a body, but touch him, shake his hand, and he is spirit only. So if he can posess bodies on earth, how can he, himself have a body?

Whether or not Angels have, or can have, or did have in the past, physical bodies that exist in our universe.... I think we will have to wait until Heaven to have an answer to this question. There are verses that suggest Angels can interact with our physical universe to some extent. However, the passage referring to Satan appearing in a body, is more about a common ordinary human, a human who will be the political leader in a world government. This human will make himself a religious leader, even proclaiming himself to be 'god'. It is said that Satan himself will dwell in this man, making him the 'anti-christ'. The man who represents the exact opposite of Jesus Christ our Lord. But he is just a man, not Satan, or an Angel. Satan will only dwell in him. Just as the holy spirit dwells in those who accept him.

He has never or will ever make a mistake. everything that he has done and will do is according to plan. What you see as a mistake, Is actually part of an even bigger design. Happy mylottinng!

I do not think that God makes mistakes. God always do the right things. The mind of God is far above than what we can think and our minds. I think most probably God has reason for all the things that happens in the world. I think God always does for the good for us in our lives.

Nearly all children disobey their parents at some point. Some even deny their parents completely. Others have actually killed their parents. Since every parent knows their child will disobey, and even rebel against their parents.... should no one ever have children?

in my opinion, God is never subject to time meaning we cant say God waited for so long to create everything. i personally believe that God even created time so even the first one second begins the moment He created it. as for the matters about having a freewill, i certainly believe God knows everything and knows what will happen in the future in fact He is the one who plans everything. im sure He is very well aware of everyone's heart and He do something to call us back though because of our freewill we disobey Him. i cant refer freewill as a mistake of God but rather as a blessings because what He gave us are not only body, He gave us soul and a life(I remember in the book of Genesis, He breathed life to us). we are not just moving bodies but living bodies

I do believe that God is perfect in the sense that His powers have no limitation, they are infinite, boundless. His works and creations tell us how powerful He is which makes Him has the sole right to be called as God. I think that God trusted His angels, like how a father trust his son who would never expect his son to commit mistake or to disobey him. If God do really expect Lucifer or our first parents to commit sin, one thing is for sure, He did not plan all those and He was not in favor of it. Would a person who planned for something will be very angry if his plans succeeded? Because that is what exactly God felt when His creations sinned and this is how He feels everytime we let the evil forces draw us away from Him.

God is perfect because He is our Lord, Our Father in Heaven,Our God,The Creator of everything. He knows everything,He sees everything and He planned everything. Just believe and you will see.
