...the storm scared us

I am talking about the recent typhoon Ofel. It is quite a shock since we rarely get hit by a strong typhoon in the last recent years. Of course, today is a ore peaceful rendition of yesterday. It was raining all day and I thought that the rain will settle before it gets dark. But i think the fear really started kicking in when we saw that our street was flooded. It was decades before we saw a sight at that. My cousin reported that their house is flooded barbecue their elevation is on the same with the road. In a sense, there was quite a relief when the electricity was put back on. My mother wanted to go home but we advised her to stay in manila or whenever she is because the car cannot be sent for her. But as the hours passed, the waters receded and the tow days looks startling contrast with each other. It feels weird - one day borderline on fear and another one almost tranquil and peaceful.

i could relate to what you have felt as we also experienced the same surprise on Ondoy since we thought then that our place is flood free. Ondoy started it all and we had it again on Habagat a few months back only it's very minimal compared to the terror of Ondoy. Now every-time it rains hard we are always on the alert and could no longer sleep soundly if it happens at night time.

At the beginning of the night, I thought I could also not sleep out of fear. My aunt and i joked that we'd be sharing coffee and 'guard duty' since ether was flooding. In end,we ended up sleeping but that was only because the floods were receding, there is electricity and honestly,we're tired for all the rush operations we had to do when it as raining shared.

Oohhh.. Indeed yesterday was something else. I worried that the roof of our neighbors would detach and be flown towards our home. Not to mention that the trees were bending and our bamboo tree at the back were really bending like there's no tomorrow. Not to mention the rain and the strong winds that were on and off! I was just glad that I didn't have work nor did I really have to go somewhere. But yeah, fears of the strong winds made me think what I could do if everything went bad yesterday. Thank God it didn't. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

I think it was the possibility of having no light and water for a longer part of time was the thing that really made me scared. I am used to storms and howling but yes, there are still time when the wind and rain can scare without any distraction. Thanks g God it was all over in the early evening. The fact that the waters were receding early was also a great relief.

We weren't very much affected by the storm. It was only raining in our part , there were some days that it didn't stop.. but no so the rain was not so hard.. I am glad that it the sun is shining now. But i saw some parts of the Philippines had it bad.. the flood was quite high.. But the rain stopped already, right?

Yes. But I think it scared us made up quick to our feet. I guess we had been lucky during the past storms that we may have been pretty lax about our typhoon preparations. At least,it's over now.

It is scary. Last night here was the worst. From inside the house we can really here the strong gusts of wind and the heavy rainfalls, like it was being dumped directly on our roof. thank God that today is a far cry from yesterday's weather. I think most of us have this Fear whenever strong rains visit our place because of the devastating effects of the super typhoons and torrential rains that has recently wreaked havoc. I do hope that each time we experience this, there will be no more casualties.

Yes.There is no more saddening that there are people who lost their lives from the storm.some of them might have really not seen it coming in the first place. I know that storms cost livelihoods and homes but that can be rebuilt or replaced. A human life isn't.
