Thank God my daughter had plenty of leftovers from Sunday's dinner..because with no electricity at my home that was my next best choice, to have leftovers at her home tonight... We were lucky that her power did not got out and we were to heat the food and eat without amy problems...Normally its her electricity that goes out and mine don't... Anyway those leftovers were just like Sunday dinner...LOL... She a great cook!!!!!!

Over 2.8 million people on the eastern sea coast without power. Ugh! Glad your daughter had extra for you. It may be cold cuts for awhile huh? I wish you and yours well. Have you heard from Gifts? Hope all are okay!

Glad to hear you are safe and well fed. It is scary to think about all of our friends perhaps being in danger. I love left overs and I like a lot of canned things like chili as well.

My daughter came to my place as her and her husband and my 2 grandkids were without power. I hardly ever lose power but am more apt to get flooded. Thankfully neither happened but I was more than prepared for both events. I had flashlights, candles...a gas stove for heat if needed and I also had plenty of foods that could be eaten cold . Because I have a gas stove, we filled the bathtub with water in the event that we water...we could at least heat water to brush teeth and sponge bathe. I love and hate these storms equally. I love how they draw us all together and yet I hate how they put so many people out and in bad situations. The media hype on this one actually did make me a bit nervous. Flooding is a reality where I live and Public Service posted a note on my door telling me to pack a bag in the event of evacuation. I've never gotten such a notice in all my 56 years here so it did kind of rattle me. I did pack my bag and tried my darndest to syke myself into sleeping in a room full of cots of strangers...not a good feeling.

Yes I am with you sid...being able to spend that time with family was much better that a shelter...I am guessing I honestly have never spent the night with strangers in a large room... Thank god your power did not go out and your family was able to come to you... Continued blessings.....

Hi, Left overs sometimes are ignored but they are very much important. Good your daughter had plenty for you. It is always wise to handle food on the table with care so that whatever is not consumed will still be good for the following meals.
