Using Traffic Exchanges to Build Referrals

I have recently considered using traffic exchanges to build referrals to some ptc, and gpt sites. I know that this type of traffic is considered junk but it looks like a good way to build referrals. Any experience doing this? Is it worth the time to use free traffic exchanges? If you have been successful, what sites are good at catching referrals?

I have been using Traffic Exchanges for years, and providing you can put the time and effort into them they do work. Some will say having 5 or 6 good traffic exchanges to surf at on a daily basis will work better than surfing 12 on and off. The good thing with tabs is that you can surf more than one Traffic Exchange at a time thus racking up the credits and getting your sites seen. I would avoid auto traffic exchanges because you set them up and walk away whilst they are running, so no one truly sees your site. Manual is of course better. Pick the ones that work right for you, the important thing is not to give up. Branding is also good, creating your own splashpage which stand out. Less is best because your site is viewed for x amount of seconds so you don't want an overloaded page that will not get read in the time. Traffic exchanges will unique views also work well like Easyhits. I avoid traffic exchanges with chat rooms, because the members are too busy chatting to notice your sites, good for networking maybe but not for getting your site viewed properly

Mainly for the traffic boost to be honest, I see surfing as a hobby it certainly doesn't bring in the money, I get a couple of referrals here and there, but if you get a referral and they don't spend money, you get zero for all your efforts.

Do you use the sites to pick up referrals, grow your email list or do you use them just for the traffic boost?

I have not had much luck with traffic sites to build referrals. The best for me has been an exchange of sites with interested friends here at mylot. We each get a free active referral. But there are some legit traffic sites that pay you cash for surfing. One of them is EasyHits 4U. I have earned money for years there.

I heard about EasyHits 4U but have never used the site. Are earnings decent?

Earnings there depend on how many pages you surf. They pay 30 cents for 1000 pages surfed. But you cash out when you reach $3. I have cashout sevral times along the years. THey don`t delete you if you stop working for sometime.

Most people using those traffic exchange sites have the same mentality as you. Most would be there to submit their own sites to get more sales/referrals/traffic and would only be surfing other sites for more credits to get more exposure for their own sites. I've used over 2000 hits on one of my sites using one of those sites and nothing came out of it. The bounce rates are extremely high.

I have found that people that use Traffic Exchanges are not looking to join more sites but rather out to get more referrals or earn some easy extra cash(albeit not a lot of extra cash). I myself used to be a member of EasyHits4U but just cashed out for my final $8.13 so I have said goodbye. Best of luck with your online income.

Traffic exchanges are good for getting a certain kind of traffic. But web analytics will show much of the traffic has a very high bounce rate. In my observation, forums are more effective in getting referrals. But the problem with forums, of course, is the competition. Usually, those who posted their links ahead of the others are more like to emerge winners. Since this is a zero-sum game, the late-comers are likely to get nothing. So, the only reliable solution for getting lots of referrals is develop your own contacts. You need to search online and offline to find more referrals.

Hi. It's very difficult to get referrals from TE. Most people will rarely look at your whole site and they just surf to earn credits. So it's not worthy to get referrals there. Cheers.
