I expect that is more about how disappointed users are with Windows 7. Equally, I wouldn't expect those users to keep Windows 8 on their computers, tablets, etc. The true winner will be Linux!

I wouls have said that Windows 7 is a very good operating system. I agree that Linux is a more stable environment, but the majority of computer users are accustomed to Windows and would be very reluctant to rty Linux. I have used Ubuntu several times, although the latest version had a few bugs. This is unusual because the system is usually completely sorted out prior to the launch. The biggest concern is for Windows users is the need for using command line input. I know that a great deal of the system can be run by a graphic user interface, but if you wish to do anything beyond the simple tasks then using a kosole becomes necessary.

The konsole is still a part of Linux today, providing that you are using the KDE interface and not GNOME.

Windows 7 was a disaster. You only have to look at previous posts of mylot members to see how many have gone back to winXP. More would have done so had not 7 formatted their hard disks so terribly! It is indeed a daunting task to switch back to XP, and especially so if you need to save any data. Yes, ubuntu made a huge mistake, but it never was one of my favorite distributions. Konsole? Haven't used it in decades! How old are you!!!

it lesser than expected. their is no surprise in it with low upgrade cost of around $19 or less which usually used to be more than $100. microsoft as strong desktop user and it main focus is on tablet but look like most of upgraded are from desktop users. it's too early to be surprised...
