Have You Worn Newly Bought Clothes With Tags Still In Them..& Didn't Realise?

Oh dear. I did this the other week when I was at Mum's. On our little shopping expeditions I bought a hat and scarf set. It was lovely, all glittery and Christmassy. It certainly got me 'in the mood' when I wore them. However, I didn't realise until FOUR DAYS LATER WHEN I WASHED THEM that the little plastic hook (mercifully a clear one so it blended into the white hat) was still in the hat..you know, the hook that's used to er..hook it and the scarf onto the rack. I then went over all the places I'd been in since I bought them (in my head) where this hook would've been seen by other people..potentially. Even hubby never mentioned it when I wore it in the car posing on the way home. I washed the hat and scarf because it had the 'been in the shop on display a long time' kind of smell. If I hadn't decided to wash them I wouldn't have seen the hook for absolutely ages!!!

Guilty here! I was so excited to wear my new blouse that I have completely forgotten to cut off the tag. It was my sister in law who told me that the tag was hanging on my back. Good thing I was just about to enter the mall, or else I would have been thought of as a shoplifter!

You got a good SIL there..not all of them would tell you about the tag so you're lucky!

My sister in la and I are pretty close. I am even closer to her than my own sister coz my sister in law lives just next door from us so it is always she that goes with me to the mall or supermarket.

It's kind of embarrassing for me, because my experience was a T-shirt I bought and I wore it going out with friends. Fortunately though, it was only some of my friends who noticed the price tag I forgot to remove and mentioned it to me. We had a few laughs about it but I remember I was just so embarrassed that time.

It was at the back but it wasn't really sticking out, unfortunately it was still a little obvious because we were all sitting closely. Well, they did tell me about it as soon as they noticed it, which was a good thing, but it was still embarrassing.

Oh dear, was it sticking out the back? I hope they told you quite early on or did they make you 'sweat' a bit lol.

I did that one time, except it was worse (I think, anyway! ) I bought a jacket at a thrift store and I wore it with the tag still on it for several days until one of the kids asked me about it.

Haha, 'a few days' I like it..you remind me of Mum, a prime wearer of shoes with stickers still stuck on the soles underneath. She's done this LOADS of times!

I remember that happening to me in the office before, thought people are looking at me because I look hot or something and then I realized there s this large carton hanging at the back of my neck. Its embarrassing but try to make sure t will never happen again. Just imagine f a security guard in a mall noticed me wearing a shirt with tag on it, he may think I stole it.

Mmm, that's a very good point! I remember years ago, me and Mum went to Preston to buy some baby clothes for her newly-born grandson (nothing to do with me lol) and Mum kept wandering over to the exit of the store..and setting the alarms off with the tags on all the clothes she was carrying. She kept doing it as well and I was sooo embarrassed I kept wandering off as if to say, 'she's not with me' lol.

Good thing the security guards didnt arrest her or something. in a shopping center in my area, there is a bulletin board outside where they place the ugshots of shop lifters. I call it the shopping center "wall of fame"

in my experience, I was wearing sandals with the price sticker still on it. I also have not noticed when I started wearing it. I have this manner of wearing sandals by just putting it on without looking. The sticker was placed on the heel. I think it was already on the 3rd day when I noticed it, and I felt like I was melting with embarrassment. It's like I wanted to have an emergency leave because I'm sure somebody from the office really have noticed it.

I've lost count of the times my Mum has done this..left stickers on the soles of her new shoes. Sometimes, it's the actual wearing of the shoes all day, every day that will shift the stickers rather than her peeling them off herself. Why she does this I do not know but I guess it's part of her eccentricity and we have to deal with it the best we can lol.

I unintentionally do this all the time lol. I'm notorious for leaving the size stickers on my shirts and then forgetting to take them off the first time I wear them. Usually my mom will catch it and let me know before I leave the house. But I remember one time a few years ago I was sitting in class when one of my friends told me that I still had a sticker on my shirt. It was the really long size stickers that are clear and run almost all the way down the shirt lol. I get so embarrassed every time that happens.

It's all very embarrassing but what I can't understand is why didn't John tell me about it in the car? I would've just laughed it off if he had lol.

hmm, yes i happened many times, with the curiosity to wear new clothes as soon as possible, i used to wear without noticing that the tags were not removed. It was only during washing or if a friend sees the tag then i realize that.So funny.

It's such a pain removing the tags as well, isn't it? Some garments seem to have loads of them on there.

I haven't experienced this with clothes, because I would immediately take off any tags once I get home and unpack the bags. But, this happened to me once for a new pair of shoes. I didn't realize that there is still a sticker with the price on it alt the bottom part. So, if I raise my shoe, people woudl see how much I bought them for.

Yes, it seems to be common amongst 'Lotters' this phenomenon of not taking the stickers off their shoes. My Mum does this a LOT and, often, she actually KNOWS they are still there but can't be bothered taking the stickers off. Now, there's DAFT for you! Haha!

i experienced same thing too. not only to clothes but also to hair clamps or hair pins. lots of times i worn it with tags pasted to the item. well, i just thought that this hair ornament was so good as to displaying it into my head but then what a shame when seeing the apparent display of tag into it. but hmpt... nothing to do about it. it was being rampage everywhere. so i just shrugged my shoulder as if i do not care but inside i felt humiliation a little haha...

This happened to me just a couple of weeks ago. I wore this new shirt during the long weekend but I'm quite sure I have removed the tag (the cardboard ones) but since it's also white I didn't see that I failed to take out the plastic ring used to attach this to the shirt's label. Then I feel itchy and I thought there's an ant in my shirt because we're mostly out in the yard the whole day. When I changed and showered before bed, only then did I see the plastic ring or hook still attached. And to think I've been scratching my nape like crazy and expecting to squish an errant ant or wo, lol!

Haha! Well, at least you know your body isn't being invaded by insects so I bet you were quite relieved once you found out what the 'culprit' was. I know I would be!
