Does anybody know what cumbia is?

I also wasn't aware of this so I checked it on the web, and yes, it's a Colombian music genre. I haven't heard any of it though so I wouldn't know how to describe it. In any case, I think we shouldn't be embarrassed to ask if we don't know. I mean, it's better to appear naive of something than pretend we know it.

Cumbia began as a courtship dance practiced among the African slave population, which was later mixed with European instruments and musical characteristics". so i can conclude that Cumbia is a traditional music. it must be nice to listen. i like ethnic music.
