Hi there guys, Lately I've been sleeping really late at night but I have this goal to gain weight. From what I know, sleeping late at night cause weight loss or you will not gain enough weight. Is it true?? Well I kind of doubt it because I have this friend of mine and just like me he also sleep so late I night (I know because I usually chat him late and he still reply) and he is so fat. So what do you think guys? Can you give me some suggestion or tips to gain weight. Thanks! :)

Haa...ha...I also heard it from my colleague but I still look fat. I was almost 140lbs when I was younger and sleepless. But I exercise and and eat less, then now I am 130lbs. If you want to gain weight, eat more, move less. He...he

hahaha XD So what do you think? Does sleep got to do something on our weight?? I do eat like really a lot, about 3 to 4 cups each meal a day. hahaha And I think I do gain a little everyday but not enough. I'm aiming to weight more than 50 kilo by the end of the year, hope I get it. :)

Hi wong, Eating more and moving less is perhapes not any prescription. Saying so is just trying to make an individual more sick. I would say its taking exerercise lack of which we suffer from sleeplessness. When we exercise our body and its different organs, glands, blood circulatory system functions properly. As a result we feel much hunger and get forced to eat. Exercise helps consume food too resulting in a sure weight gain into our body. Being fat is not that we are gaining weight. Weight means the increase in the density of muscle. If we eat food like vegetables and protein sufficiently we can gain weight for sure. But Over eating is quite unscientific. Stay bouncy and fine.

i think that the best thing to gain weight is to eat at night before sleeping cause the metabolism is slowed when u sleep and the fat is being proccesd slower and it enters the body.... that is my opinion.

I actually see this question a lot on mylot, which is kind of surprising to me cause even though personally I'm in that camp where I have so much more trouble gaining weight, I still typically think there are more people who want to lose it. And some of the tips people give, ouch. Eating more calories, depriving yourself of sleep, and becoming a couch potato is the perfect recipe for having a heart attack. You don't want to pick up bad habits that are going to hurt you in the long run, at least... I hope you don't. The healthy way to gain weight is to build muscle. Eat healthy, (it's not counter-productive, it's good for you) and eat larger portions of muscle building vitamins and minerals. Spend time during the day doing weight-training to bulk up the parts of your body you think are on the thin side.

I'm certainly no expert myself, but that doesn't sound accurate. Is your friend a bodybuilding guru? I tried to double check that, but I wasn't sure where to look. I'm not sure that's how muscle development would happen, as in, I don't think gaining weight would lead to a bulkier muscle body. I think skinny guys who are ripped are pretty hot, but that's just me. I'd still say to try to be healthy in the ways you attempt to gain weight. Eat more, but eat healthy, because junk food does bad things to every part of you. And still keep exercising, because if you are lazy for a long period of time it's going to be hard to get active again when you try bodybuidling.

NO he's not some kind of muscle guru, haha XD. Anyway, I'll just do my best to eat lots and lots of food. I'll make sure there's no more space in my tummy after I eat. And do some exercise to in the morning, maybe I'll start jogging again in our place. :)

I did try body building specially my biceps. Like small barbel lifting, but then one of my friend told me that it's much better if I try to gain weight first. According to him, with this body I have, If I start body building now it will result to a bad muscle development. I mean the formation of muscle, imagine a skinny guy, a thin guy but full of muscle and I think that's not cool at all hahaha XD. What I really aiming is to increase the mass of my body so that I can start body building. :)

I know one thing to gain weight is to eat right before bed. It sits in your stomach and is just fat building up. Another thing you could try is protein shakes, they are fattening. Even adding some ice cream to it will probably put on the pounds! I don't have this problem but my cousin does and I told her the same things I am telling you...I hope it works for you!

I'm not sure but from what I heard, eating before you go to sleep, like making your tummy full then go to sleep, can cause nightmare?? Is that true? The food you eat is like there's a chance it will block your throat whenever you snore. And if I am not mistaken this is true because this is one of the reason why a known actor in my country die. But I haven't thought about protein shake, I don't know how it work. hahaha XD

Lol. We have the same problem. Me, myself, wants to gain weight. In fact, it was my topic this past few days. My mission this year was to gain weight but then year end is fast approaching and nothing happens. I do eat a lot and nothing happens. I took vitamins and nothing happens. I'm too frustrated already. I am not happy with my body anymore because I'm getting thinner. Hope anybody here could help us.;-)

If you are emaciated,I will suggest getting enough sleep and eating good food.If you are a little bit fat,I want to say:keep enough sleep and do jogging.

Yes, eat good food, that's the key. However, some myloters just said that sleep got nothing to do with weight. Maybe if those lack of sleep night result to a stress, surely you'll lose weight. haha XD

Gaining weight can be done in many ways if you eat and eat and sit in one place sure u will put on some pounds like after eating working on a computer works. You can also eat loads of peanuts that was recommended by my doc who said eat peanuts regurlarly to gain few pounds and also I have heard that after eating a healthy lunch if you go to sleep for few hours you can gain weight. Hope these tips work for you lol

Wow! I do envy your predicament. Mine, however, is the exact opposite. In spite of my work during unholy hours of the night til dawn, I still managed to pack on almost 30 pounds in 3 years. I contribute this to eating more than 3 meals a day consisting of 1 to 2 rice since I'm a rice lover and 1 to 2 variands and end it all with a sumptuous dessert of your choice: ice cream or cake. Now, I'm in the punishment mode since I need to lose weight as I look for work. No rice already for 2 weeks and 1 meal is divided into 2 or 3. Have not lost a lot but I indeed lose some. Will continue to do so til I reach my desired weight again.

Yes, let's do this together. You gain while I lose. LOL haha, you should just give me those food you regret to eat. Especially that dessert, cake and ice cream, I'll gladly accept it with smile wide open! haha XD

I don't think that less sleep or sleeping late will cause wight loss. But it is important that the body will sleep well so it will get better and stronger. And if you wanna gain weight the best way is to eat good and do some muscles exercise

From what I've heard doing some muscle exercise while your kind of skinny will result to a bad muscle shape. I've tried doing barbel (the small one) but I stop it once I heard that. So I first need to gain weight before I do the exercise. :)

You should gain healthy weight, and not fat, from sitting around all day and eating. If that's what you're after then you're better off thet way you are now. The best way to gain weight is have a goodnight sleep, exercise and eat well and a lot of good protein foods like eggs, fish, beef etc. If you exercise you will notice that your appetite will increase a great deal! ;)

Some myloter said that sleep got nothing to do with gaining weight. And base from my observation too, like my friend who is so fat even though his sleeping habit is like mine. However, I will try your suggestion, eat lots and lots of food like other myloters said. :)

I don't think that less sleeping would gain weight. Just about the sleeping time, some previous studies show that 7-hour sleeping may be the best way to gain weight. Additionally, enough exercise and health diet are the methods to gain weight. In my opinion, persistence and regular pattern play the key roles in the process.

What about if I did get 7 hours of sleep but start sleeping at around 3am then wake up at 10am? That's a total of 7 hrs, is that fine too? I'm like that, and I hate my sleeping habit.

Hello! Wow! A lot of people are trying really hard to lose weight but you are trying to gain weight. Its way to easier to gain weight than to lose weight. There's a lot of things and foods that can make you gain weight, but I think, if you really wanted to gain weight, go for the healthy way. I mean, there are weight gain vitamins that are safe and effective that can be bought over the counter. Weight gain vitamins increases your appetite so in that way, you'll be gaining weight by properly eating plus you get to have the right vitamins as well.
