Transfer rumors that Drogba might come back to Chelsea on a loan deal. Now that the season in China is over, Drogba is available for a cameo loan deal for Chelsea if FIFA gives the approval. Apparently FIFA is mulling whether to let this deal go through which could mean that Drogba could play in December for Chelsea before returning back to Africa for the African Cup of Nations. Also, another transfer news doing rounds is another loan deal for Thierry Henry for Arsenal like last year now that the MLS season for his club is over. If this happens Henry could join Arsenal for 2 months to provide cover for Gervinho who will be on duty at African Cup of Nations. Arsene Wenger mentioned that he is open to such an option and that Henry trained with the team 3 times in the last fortnight. Cheers! Ram

I think that Arsenal might rent Henry again as they lost Robin Van Persie. But I don't think that Rafa would love Drogba. He need to use Torres well and I think that's a quite important reason why Abramovich would give him such a chance. But I think that Rafa might not use Torres if Torres continues performing badly. Torres has been old and he had some horrible injuries in the past.

Yes, the main reason for Benitez to arrive is to rejuvenate Torres. But, I am not sure if he would be able to. The problem is with overall playing style of Chelsea which does not suit Torres currently and that would mean a change in personnel and that cannot really be done by Benitez in a interim period. Fernando Torres played very well under Rafael Bení - Fernando Torres played very well under Rafael Benítez in Liverpool.
Thierry Henry is 35 years old now and you think he can replace Robin van Persie. Fernando Torres is just 28 years old and you think he is old. I am not aware of that Torres has had any horrible injuries before. When did it happen? Rafael Benítez bought Torres for Liverpool and Torres played outstandingly under him. I feel that Torres could be rejuvenated if the team emphasis is placed on him with more support from the midfield and flank players.

Didier Drogba has been a force in China with 8 goa - Didier Drogba has been a force in China with 8 goals in 11 games.
It is a good deal for Arsenal if Henry can be taken in to cover Gervinho but I am not very sure about the benefit of having Drogba playing for Chelsea for a mere one month even if the two Chelsea strikers of Torres and Sturridge are not having the best form at the moment. With the departure of Drogba in the summer, Chelsea has had a new playing style revolving around Hazard, Mata and Oscar. It is just a matter of time when the new team will be playing better and better. The worst could happen now is to change the play drastically and back to where it was. Anyway, the Drogba deal has been rejected by FIFA so it won't happen.

Thierry Henry may push himself too hard at his age - Thierry Henry may push himself too hard at his age now.
Henry's USA club is also not happy with the proposal. They feel that Henry should take the Christmas and New Year break to rejuvenate. Henry is 35 now. He may push himself too hard for his age.

Both of them are quality player with a lot of experience. There is no harm in having such players in the squad as they can be very useful in times of need. But the clubs should not change their way of play just for the sake of accompanying the short term replacement players.

I think both clubs are looking at short term hot fixes for their striker problems. For Chelsea, a misfiring Torres is a major concern. Benitez has been brought in to bring the best out of the spaniard, but till that happens, he needs some cover and that can be provided by Drogba. For Arsene Wenger, Giroud looks the only striker available as Podolski has been shifted to the left hand side. And with Gervinho missing due to African Cup of Nations and Chamakh most likely to dumped in the summer, he looks at Henry as a quick fix. Cheers! Ram
