She did anyway! Only 3 weeks after a hystercomy she did! Her name is Trisha and she boards a QH gelding at the stable I work at. I saw her on wednesday. She was told no riding for 2 months! She could not wait! She had to get on! She rode bareback and like 15 minutes at a walk. She was paying for it later! I am sure she will do this again real soon! Some people just don't listen!

When I was younger, I was also obsessed with horses and riding. I rode when I could. In fact, the owner of the stable knew that I would do nothing to hurt my favorite horse, and if I needed to... ummm... jump start... my cycle, she'd let me come out and ride for a bit. Just a warm up and a cool off. Since Sunny was a devil if she was let out (she opened gates just for the fun of it!) she was either turned out in a pen (I was once invited out to help catch her) or she just stood in her stall. The times I asked for a ride, were generally between "semesters" so Jane was just as happy to have me come out and give her a turn about the stable.

You are right. People will do things they aren't suppose to,even when they are told not to. Some of us pay for it,too! This woman doesn't have to work and she is obsess with riding! She was riding every day before the surgery! She just can't stay off her horse Rave!

That was a very dangerous thing for her to do.....she could start bleeding etc from the jostling around. My daughter had a hysterectomy last spring....she had to lay low for six weeks....

I had a hystercomy 4 1/2 years ago. I had to lay low for 6 weeks also! I was off from work, both jobs, for those 6 weeks! I healed well and I listened to my doctor! Trisha is not and you are right! She could start bleeding or something else could happen! I would not doubt she'll be doing it again very soon! I mean the riding!

Yeah, some people can be hard-headed and stubborn, not caring whether what they're doing can make things worse for them. Although I don't know exactly about the dire consequences of horseback riding only a few weeks after having hysterectomy, I at least know that it's not advisable to do strenuous things at least six months after. Better find some way to get this through that stubborn head of your friend.

When I saw her last week she said her doctor gave her premission to ride! Then the owner of the stable shows up and sees what Trisha is doing, asked what she was doing! Then Trisha says she is not to suppose to and rode anyway! She is so horse crazy! I doubt I could get through to her even if I would try!

There is nothing with the person's Trisha) horse. She was not suppose to ride him yet. She had a hystercomy 3 weeks ago and the doctor told her no riding for 2 months! Well she didn't listen to her doctor and rode anyway! I am sure she will do it again before she really is suppose to!

Some people don't like being told what they can/can't do whether it's in their best interest or not. I some times am like that, but when a doctor tells me to do or not to do something, I follow his instructions to a "t!" Guess it's just stubborness.

You are right! Some people are very stubborn! When I have had surgery I am good at following directions! Other things not so much! Like with my acid reflux! Still eat food I shouldn't! Still am not sleeping on in incline! Have tried but I always end up sleeping on my side!
