Hot yoga, is it good?

Hot yoga is so popular these days. There are so many places offering hot yoga. The temperature is hot, making you dripping down sweat. Some people believe that hot yoga can lead to weight loss, because you are sweating. Is that true? Has anybody try hot yoga? What is your experience?

At first, I thought the word "hot" meant sensual moves or positions for yoga. I haven't heard of this yet. But, won't you really be sweating if you do exercises, including yoga?

Yes, you are drain in sweat. Got to have towel handy. The room temperature is set at certain degree, it's like in the sauna (maybe a little less). So even when you don't do jump around, like yoga, small movements can make you drip like you are running marathon.

Won't it be more difficult to breathe when you move a lot? I mean, when you're inside a sauna room, it's sometimes hard to breathe with all the steam, and you're just sitting inside. But, when you're moving, I would imagine you'd be panting.

First time I hearing about hot yoga but I think it has same effect as normal yoga. Even normal yoga itself will help to reduce weight.

I don't think so !! If we exercise properly definitely we will get sweat whether its hot condition or cold condition !! Only thing is to work out more :)

I'm not much into yoga. I actually haven't done this activity, whether the traditional or this hot yoga you're referring to. Sweating is good, but I don't think it could really make you lose weight especially if you don't change your diet. Yoga helps burn fats and makes you sweat also. But again, with an improper diet, you won't be losing weight even if you do this activity.

I am hearing this first time hot yoga means cold yoga is also exist can you explain me how can categorize it. I not try yoga but walking.
