The week before Thanksgiving for show fans!

This week I noticed that they didn't have any new epeisodes for my faourite shows. Was it because of Thanksgiving? I remember last year the same happened at the end of November and I didn't notice it back then! Everything is back to normal again from next week according to the wikipedie epeisodes lists that I checked, until Christmas! I was wondering, what does national tv has in US the week before Thanksgiving when all the shows don't have new epeisodes? I am sorry if it looks like a silly question, I really wondered though. Thanks :-)
