Are you happy with your life?

At times we all may focus on getting a better job, so that we can have a better career, to have more money and then we think we will be happy. A lot of the time people fly through life trying to make their life happy. And later they realize that their life has flown by and they weren't able to really enjoy it because they were so focused on the future. I think it's important that even in hard times we try to enjoy the present of our life.

I do not feel that I am happy enough in my life. It is not about not having material things. I just would like a better ans stronger relationship with my husband.

I can completely relate to how you feel. I use to feel this way a lot especially for the last three years. I still feel this way it's just I'm starting to get disappointed because every time I have tried I have been disappointed. Because I'm the one who does everything around our home, and the one who tries to make the relationship better, while my husband does only things that interest him. This week we will be going to a type of counseling that will hopefully help us with our marriage. I think that it is like a last effort on my part. I'm now trying to look at things from the point of view of not caring how my husband feels about the things I want to do. If I worry about those things it will only create more stress and hard feelings. I need to do what I want to do and just work on keeping a good friendship between my husband and I. When we stay good friends that will help our marriage. And besides when I do things that make myself happy I'm in a better position to be a good wife. There is nothing wrong with working to improve ourselves. Hopefully this meeting will go well.

I forgot to add that I hope things between you and your husband improves as well. Having marriage problems is awful. Perhaps you and your husband can find some way to reconnect. Perhaps doing things together that you did before you were married. I hope to hear that things are getting better.

I have been trying to make it better. His efforts are little less than mine. Well, our situation is kinda complicated most especially that he is still behind his parents' shadow, even at 42! But I am hopeful that things would still turn out great....in due time.

Nobody can say they are happy with their life because everyone has some grievances. No one is perfect and God not give all thing to each. Like we have sufficient money for living but no child complete 9 years of marriage. So I am not happy with my life. Some people has child but they not sufficient earning, if earning and child both then illness is start.

Yeah I understand what you mean. We seem to be in the second category. We have a daughter but it would be nice to have some more money coming in. I'm hoping to work at it more. I would like to do better with savings. I hope that if you want children that you will be able to have them.

I agree with you. Life really is too short. Each and every day when we hear about the suffering and loss of others we are reminded of this fact. It is important for us to remember to enjoy life and always tell our family how much we care for them.

I am happy now, because I have the best boyfriend in the world. I really want to indulge in it, and I hope I'd never neglect him or our relationship or any of my hobbies just because of work.

I'm glad to hear that you are happy with your boyfriend. When we have a successful relationship we really are able to be happy about other aspects of our life. It rubs off in a good way. Keep up with your hobbies and enjoy your life.

I'm glad to hear that you are happy. We really can be happy when we are able to provide the necessities that we need. It's when we think that we need so much more that we start to feel disappointed. Keep up the good work.

I am satisfied with it most of the part. Satisfied because I made a kind of stressless, peacefull life for me and my children. Stressless and peacefull mostly inside our house/family. The outside world is something different. I think happiness is a feeling, it comes and goes and mostly is only there for some minutes. Even at moments you don't expect ia at all you suddenly are aware: I am happy. Yes it is important to enjoy during hard times but if people are able to also has to do with the kind of character they have. There are people who are always positive, people who are great in ignoring and neglecting what is going on and leave the mess behind for someone else to take care of, there are people who are able to make priorities and take care of what is the biggest problem, there are people who only see problems on their road... still I think no matter what, how hard, how less money you have, it's possible to enjoy life, even if it's just a few minutes a day. This way you will have new energy to go on (btw going to bed early is a way to enjoy as well).

I'm glad that you were able to achieve a peaceful life for you and your family. That at times can be hard to do. I agree the world is a totally different thing. If we can achieve these things in our family life then we are happy to come home and get away from it all. I will have to work on that going to bed early part. I never get to bed early and I'm always up early.

Yes, that's true. Some people are preoccupied on how to have more money to be happy. They haven't realized the things and people they have that would make them happy. Maybe we pause for a while and think and see around and we will find out that this will make us happy. Be thankful for it to God who gives us happiness too. Have a nice day!

Hey Dominique, i think at different stage of our lives, we be feeling different. Currently i'm in my last semester of undergrad life and will be graduating soon. Currently preparing to spend my last semester in London and am therefore very happy trying to plan it. \ I just broke up with my boyfriend about 3 months ago, but i'm recovering well. Overall, i can say that i'm very happy wtih my life now :) Plus, i totally agree with your point that even in hard times, we need to enjoy the present.
