On Beekeeping

Back in the nineties when I was stronger and younger, I used to own 10 colonies of honeybees as a result of hands-on skills training I have undergone. For five consecutive years, I harvested at least 25 kilos per colony. Then there came the difficulty of maintaining them when pests attacked them much so when poisoning was uncontrolled when green housing became popular among the farmers in the area. I was also discouraged much to pursue this due to my failing health and my getting older as time passed.

I'm sorry that you had to give up beekeeping. The bees are so important to the farmers. I love the taste of natural honey in the cone.

I am aware that bees are beneficial insects not just for the farmers but the whole vegetation that helps cool the earth because of their importance to pollination. The farmers, though need to be educated since in our area, some think these are plant pests and race towards them with their knapsack sprayers trapped under their greenhouses.

That is sad. It's more than sad; it's tragic.
