I was reading a discussion about gifting a friend and feel that gift brings smile on the person's face no matters how big or small, how expensive it is but what when we forget the special occasions? I have a very bad memory and as a result I normally forget my friends birthdays and anniversaries.I know it is wrong but sometimes I can't help it.They call me for the party and leaves me with no option to attend it without a gift but just my hearty wishes! I do buy a suitable gift the very next day and present them with a quote 'Belated Anniversary'!I gift them because I really want to and not as an obligation. Friends do you think it works?I am trying to change my habit but till then I will be practicing it...suggest please.

We all find ourselves in such a situation.Often we forget the birthdays and anniversaries of our friends and so fail to attend them.Life these days is busy and nobody can remember a large number of dates and days.I,for one, can't.Recently my friend invited me to attend his marriage anniversary. In the meantime we had a problem in our family. It was due to dispute over the partition of the joint property.I forgot everything and got engaged to solve the problem. And it was only after a couple of days after his marriage anniversary that I could recall what I had forgotten.I went to my friend to apologize, but he had no objection. He could understand my situation.

There is nothing wrong greeting or gifting our friends after their exact bday. Belated gifts or greetings is much better than forgetting it forever. I am also bad when it comes to remembering friends and loved ones birthdays. I suggest that you keep a small notebook and write down every special people's birthday. Then..every year each time you changed your calendar- note down on every pages their birthdays- that way the chance of forgetting their birthdays is very rare.

I think it's okay, it's never mandatory to give gifts but I think the gesture is always welcomed by anyone. It's good that you thought of them that way though, it's rare that people would give belated gifts. But yeah, it's good and it's okay. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

I'm sure ur friends or any kind of friend wouldn't mind or care too much if another friend forgets special event like a bday or something! When I forget a friend or siblings bday they understand. It's different for other ppl. Some make a huge big deal and other r like ' eh oh well' that actually me right there! If someone forgets my bday or anniversary I don't give it much thought. I think to myself there r worse things out there than presents and gift
