During my childhood I used to watch a lot of cricket. I was amazed that India almost always won at home and almost always lost abroad. Then there came a time that India started winning abroad quite frequently and I thought that this was the dawn of a new era in Indian cricket. However I am not so sure any more. The recent India - England series has changed that view entirely. I feel that my childhood days were better. At least we used to win at home. Now even that seems to be difficult. Is it a passing phase? Or is this England side too good? Or are we back to the old times?

I agree with you, india won match in home, but not in abroad. it because indian batting is not doing well and indian bowling s always poor.

Also it is a new high for English team. A team which used to crumble just at the mention of the word "Spin" has not only played spin confidently, but have scored runs aplenty of them. I think this is also a sad reflection of the quality of the spinners that we produce these days. I think England had the better spinners and their batsmen were better prepared to play spin that India!! Cheers! Ram

Hello, it looking you are disappointed with the defeat of team India. It is game my dear. But one thing which is responsible for this situation of team India is politics in the team. A big sufelling is required to make it good.

It had to happen, most of the Indian fans who witnessed 8-0 thrashing knew that this will happen sooner or later.Indian test side with collection of IPL captains has lot of glamor associated with it but they are overall a poor test side as compared to Indian team which won series in Eng,WI,NZ and did well in Aus and SA.Bizarre selections, no accountability and state of denial are three most important problems .This surely is one of the worst phases in Indian cricket.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely right, it is very disheartening to see the Indian team losing at the home venue also. Previously they were really doing well against the foreign teams at home but now they are even not giving them a fight and are surrendering tamely. I hope this loss will be an eyeopener for them and expecting that they will upstage the English team in the final test match and level the scores. What say?
