Im very fond of reading to be honest. Whenever I see a good book, I can't help to buy or to borrow it. Reading is very essential because, it gains new insights or perspectives on different issues. It also allows the readers to dream and to feel that some things are really possible. Reading is a hobby too, for us to escape reality and to build a new world. Even if computers and different gadgets are already being introduce in our country. We can still not deny that Reading a book is the best thing to do in your spare time and even any time.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i am glad to know that u are fond of books and reading and u are absolutely right that reading is essential for every human being as it enriches his or her knowledge and it makes u more knowledgeable and more intelligent about various issues. More importantly there comes an attitudinal change the more u read and the more u are involved in reading. Although i do not find that much of time to read books but whenever i get time i make it a point to read novels and all. What say?

Reading is one of my hobbies and I thoroughly enjoy it. One of my favourite authors is Francine Rivers and one of my favourite books written by her is Redeeming Love.

One of my favorite is Lisa Kleypas and Nicholas Sparks. Have you ever read one of John Green's novel?

I agree with you. I like to think that reading makes us smarter, regardless of what it is that we read. Even if it's fictional, there is something about reading books with a different vocabulary and on different subjects that helps us learn and keeps our brains active. For the sake of this discussion, what are your favorite genres? Favorite books in general? Do you have any to suggest to me? (They have to be in English, I am not so skilled at any other language, ha ha!). Take care!

You should read "Tolstoy and The Purple Chair" by Nina Sankovich. One of the best books I've ever read. Also Khaled Husseini's books "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" are amazing.

I'm glad I saw this discussion! For me, reading is a hobby and I love it. I love walking around Barnes n Noble and going through so many books. I love looking at the covers and reading the summaries. I love to read because I can escape all my problems for a few hours and concentrate all my feelings toward the book. I also like to here other opinions on books I've read, to see if I can look at it differently. Sometimes, I even like to pretend I'm one of the characters. GoodReads is a great site I go to to find new books. Whenever I love a book, I like to gush to my friends about it (the ones who love reading too aha), I just love books. I mainly lean towards a good romance book.
