I blog but I hardly get any visitors. How to get more visitors to my blog?

Blogging is fun but once the novelty wear off the same blog which you patronized most of the time becomes neglected. This is what happened to my blog started a few years back. Now, I have submitted it to a couple of blog directories and as a result have written a guest blog for blogger. What are the methods to bring traffic to a blog. I don't want the obvious answers, something new and not shared before.

Hey I appreciate the discussion you have started.. I myself a new blogger and have two blogs and face the same problem of low visitors.. the comments here are really informative.. right now I am using facebook, twitter and some blog directories to promote the blog..

Do you know how many blogs and sites there are? How impossible it is to find or visit them all? So ask yourself first what is interesting about yours. Why might people visit your blog? Since if your blog is just one of those, full of nonsense, not adding anything extra or special you will only have visitors once in a while or not at all. If you do have something special then give search machines the keywords that fit your blog.

One of the many and full of nonsense, but is mine. Your suggestion about unique writing and new keywords is interesting and should work.
Why don't you vist my blog and go through my nonsense and place a few comments. Mine is not a special blog and I am not doing any social service. It is an attempt to promote writing and finding opportunities on the net, the usual nonsense.

That's what I like. a lot of nonsense can be considered by many people as nonsense, but, I can see interesting things in that.
It's like recycling information, similarly to what we all do here, on mylot. Everyone writes something about almost everything. Some posts are rated well and some are less.

I can give you a few suggestions.
Make sure that your blog has content every 3 days. Promote your blogs in also social networks that you can. Guest posting on other people's blogs can be a great way to get visitors who have the same interest as your blogs's niche. Finally, make sure your niche is unique and hasn't done before, or if it has been done before make sure there are really unique and creative aspects about it.

First of all, I will be more than happy to read your blog. What your blog is all about?
I know it can get less interesting as time passes. At least, this blog will be new for many other people who never saw it.
I know someone who writes a blog about music and he tells everyone about it on his Facebook profile. He updates a status.
I personally think the key is to develop some real attachment between you and the readers. If you have a chance to know them better and develop a friendship, your blog will be more personal for them. They will know you write the blog for them since you know they want to read more and more.

I just read the first article about the abandoned puppies and left a comment.
I think you will be able to find out who is it. I keep my writing style the same.
The article was very close to my heart. I love dogs and I think they are pure souls that deserve only good.
