Why Must I Always Disagree?

I love my church-fellowship. But when I listen to the pastor there giving a sermon, I practically have to 'bite my tongue' to keep from yelling, "NOT EXACTLY! " Today I rehd a commentary-article by my old professor Rev. Robin Meyers about the absolute lack of a need for easier gun-rights; and I totally agreed with him, but I HAD to present the 'greater gun-rights'-argument (that most of the recent mass-shootings took place in gun-free zones, ergo the government--by threatening gun-users with PRISON--is an accomplice in the murders---setting up the victims for deranged folks to knock `em down.) Why? Why can't I just shut-up and quietly disagree? I think it's because (as I wrote to the Oklahoma Gazette) I have to trust the people to make the right decision when given all of the arguments. I have to trust them as Our Father (Allah/YHVH/Flying-Spaghetti-Monster) trusts them to follow His pattern on their paths. What do you think?

Well, without exercising self-control and even with it, I will argue about anything and everything just for the fun of it. I don't see it as a bad thing as it sometimes brings new insights all the best, urban

Well, I agree regarding here or -any time you have time to 'sit & think about things.' But out in the world, we all strive to be 'obedient parts of the machine'---which is why I hate computers which have to 'operate' (closing files, saving settings, erasing histories, etc.) BEFORE they can respond to Your Orders. Commanders want servants/soldiers who follow their orders immediately, not -'after they think about it and decide it's good.'

Maybe that's why I don't always fit so well in the world. I refuse to be an obedient part of the machine unless I happen to agree. Talking puts everything in the forefront. It allows me to think faster and to have more in front of me when the time comes. I don't always have to take time to decide whether I agree with something or not. The more often I debate a variety of topics, the less time I need to determine what I believe is good.

That's funny. Sometimes I like to debate just for the sake of the debate too. I thought I was the only one that would intentionally argue something I don't believe. It's actually kind of fun to see how worked up some people get when you don't agree with them. And even more fun when I know I actually DO agree. But you're right, it helps clear the thinking. Being able to argue the opposite viewpoint requires an understanding of the opposite viewpoint. Many can't even suppport their own view. Making an argument that something is right because I believe it, isn't an argument. I've solidified a lot of my views due to friendly debates.

Hello. I think you need to practice being submissive. You know, like a Lamb? A Lamb never cries out or do anything even when it is being killed. :) Have a great day!

And who will follow this Lamb when all they see is that he rushes to the slaughter (and his resurrection afterward is kept secret)?

We get to know Christ, not a religious fanatic or a church or a service model or models a particular teaching or priest, only to satisfy our "I". When we hear the word of the Lord even of the clergy who stutter or even stupid, we hear with the ears of students who believe there is a truth which God wanted to teach for us personally, not begin to look for people who we think they will have to hear the word of God and repent: ) So remember the film King's Speech, the president who stutter and trying to be able to speak intimately to his people. "Doctor" finds that he stammered lost if he did not hear his own voice speaking. Lest all this in the presence of our Lord in reality stutter, because we are too often we hear our voice as the most correct. Though God's voice often flows faint waiting for us to listen. I think it is better to have aspirations of the people who can change the country, rather than have aspirations to be president first and then get great talking in front of people so as to change the country.

It's because you know how to think and you're not afraid to use your mind. I so firmly believe God does not want us to blindly follow everything we're told. If that were the case, why did he give us free will? If he wanted us to blindly follow, wouldn't it have been immensely easier to just create us so that we wouldn't question anything? That's certainly within his power. But he wants us to hear about him and decide for ourselves. I think you're on the right track!

Wow,you do have the spirit of resistance. But God would also not hope everyone just obey his will foolishly and blindly.I think you have the freedom to complain about it,but it is better to exchange your ideas and thoughts with more people and see if it is really correct or not,if all the people say it is ridiculous, you'd better try not be radical.Just my two cents. Have a nice day.

"God would also not hope everyone just obey his will foolishly and blindly." If I wanted to disagree with you there, I'd ask, "So God's will is that you don't do His will? " But what I think you mean there is 'God wants you to CHOOSE to do His will rather than -to blindly follow the pattern of "followers" that went before you.' He wants you to make decisions that would be best for the glory of The Kingdom. ... now, to somehow make that mean 'you need to move to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (US), find me & convince me to marry you'?
