We have a tradition in my country for the day before Christmas. Children go out in the city with triangles and sing the Christmas Carols. They go from house to house and people open their doors and they award them with money. We had saved some money for the childer that might come this morning but no one came in our building. I really wanted to hear the carols today, and I was expecting for the bell to ring but it didn't. I remember that when I was a child I was going with my brother at our neighborhood and it was really fun! My old neighbor upstairs had a kid and he was coming at all the apartments in the building every Christmas, my mum was always giving him 5 euros and he was so happy! lol The same tradition happens for the New Year as well, so I hope that we will be able to listen to the New Years carols then! Do you have similar traditions in your country?

There were also few carolers here in our place too, most of the time it was the same set of children, who seemed not interested in singing too. when you walk the streets, they would stop and ask money directly from you but they stop at front doors as well when they see someone could be inside.

lol! My friend who works at a store said the same! It was a popular spot for the kids and some of them were just going in asking for the money without singing! Also, she said that there were a couple of kids that were in groups, but they were splitted when they were going inside the store in order to gather more money! It was funny because she saw the rest of the group waiting in the corner and then they went inside when their friends were finished!

Well, I guess they have forgotten the idea of this tradition! They do go out to sing the christmas carols but they prefer stores and public places where they get more tips, because there are a lot of people around. I remember that I was satisfied from the whole procedure but now I have seen that they don't care about it so much! Also maybe this happens because the parents don't leave them any more. Cities used to be safer but now they are afraid to leave their kids go unsupervised. It's still safe in our small city but we see so many things on the news every day so I believe that they have their reasons!
