Insomnia? or just stress?

Recently for the past few weeks(2 weeks). I have been trying to sleep at about 1am but always seem to sleep at about 3am. The planned wake up time would be around 8am or 9 am. But i have been breaking this cycle many times and sleeping at 3am while waking up at 6-7am. Could this be a case of slight insomnia or just work stress? As far as i know im quite stressful in juggling studies and part-time jobs and hanging out with friends

Insomnia has a medical reason, people who suffer from it have it for years (biggest part of their life). If you can't sleep for 2 week, or a month or even 6 months it does not mean you have insomnia. It's not natural to go to bed at 1 or 3 am! The best rest you get before midnight so you better change your scedule/life style. Also waking up at 8-9 am is not common. I don't read anywhere why you go to bed that late, is this because of work? Your waking up time (6-7 am) is normal, since people should wake up when the sun is rising (with the roosters). Also between 2-4 pm and after 11pm people are way less productive so it's useless to work a big part of the night anyway. If hanging out with your friends is quite stressful quit with that! Many people study and do have jobs but still they are able to sleep. I think all this is just a bad way of a life style and have nothing to do with stress. Or you have problems with being mature and taking care of yourself. If so again: scedule your life. Wake up at 7am, have breakfast, go for a walk, study for some hours, eat, relax, work, go to bed at 10-11pm. This habit has to get in your life/bio ritme again and this will take time. Also: don't watch movies, be on your pc etc 1-2 hours before you go to sleep. The brains need rest (light is keeping them active as well).
