I hate some endings

of movies. These ones that just end. Not drama, no feeling no nothing. Maybe a bit of a logical ending but could have been so much better. Do these bother you at all? I just watched Arbitrage and it was okay but just came to an ending. It was like it just dropped off. What is up with that? Have you watched some that do this? It's like the director just got tired and quit or something. I could see ending a story so much better. Your thoughts.

I have watched a few like this lately, and it really makes you wonder. Couldn't they have ended it another way. They leave you feeling frustrated, and often confused, and saying "That was it?" Personally I wonder what they were thinking, and then wished I could have helped them write a better ending.

The DVDs that show alternative endings could be on to something, especially considering a lot of movies leave you hanging. I cannot remember the last time I went to a movie. I think King Kong. I just usually rent from Red Box or on a Cable channel, or if it is one I really like, I will put down the money and buy it. A lot cheaper.

I have been horribly disappointed with some endings before. It was like the whole movie was awesome and then...letdown. I watched one called Number 5 and although I thought I was not going to like it at all, it was pretty good. I was so looking forward to seeing what happened and they just rode into the sunset on their mission. That has been a couple of years ago and still nothing.

It's unfair. It really seems sometimes like the director just got tired and stopped.

Ya, and it doesn't even end like a cliff hanger to set up for a sequel. It just stops!

What a coincidence, last night I also watched the movie Arbitrage. The story is OK. However, the ending is totally out of my expectation. I almost can't believe that this is the ending. This made me feel so disappointing. Because I don't think this movie should be ended like that. I even don't know Richard Gere's choice at last

I have seen a few movies that do not appear to end, although I can not think of any examples at the moment. It seems quite unacceptable to simply terminate mid story with no form of conclusion whatsoever, and it makes the whole movie seem like a totally pointless event. I can remember a few series of this nature as well, such as Alcatraz. The story revolved around prisoners and staff who disappeared in the 1960s and suddenly started to reappear. Despite watching every episode and looking forward to the explanation, the series simply ended and I knew no more than in the beginning.

How very frustrating! You'd thing the writers would do more to help explain the situation. Now they are more apt to do that. Like in the case of Breaking Bad. I think Lost was that way for alot of people too.

That reminds me of the movie The Village. With Joaquin Phoenix and Bryce Dallas Howard. It got to the end, and I was like, that's it? It was just such an odd place in the story to stop at.

Yes, I saw that and certainly agree. And with all the hype about the movie I really expected more from it. What a disappointment!

No, I like to hav an ending even if it is a sad one. I just hate having to guess what could have happened. I want to be entertained sometimes and not having to make up my own ending. I know exactly how you feel. I get so angry when this happens or perhaps frustrated us a better word I hope that this New Year will be a better one for you,

I just don't care for the ones where all of a sudden it just ends. Not rhyme or reason.

I think i have watched some movies that are like that.. it starts quite good or just okay, i start to enjoy it and the conflict comes up, but then it just ends abruptly.. I really hate endings that seemed rushed.. I don't even care how long the movie will last as long as they give us a good ending..

The ones where the two just walk off together and you aren't even sure if they will end up together are better than just abruptly stopping. Urrrrgh!

some endings as you said lack logic beyond an extent and it might seem so sickening and vulnerable to so much of distrust and i hate them to the core for sure

If the ending is relatively realistic and comes to an end that makes sennse that is fine. But when it just stopped it is rediculous. We have just invested two hours for this? It can be very disappointing.

Hi friend, some times the director is in need to finish the movie quickly due to some reasons, so he don't give importance to the climax and finish the story in a hurry manner. Most of the people don't like this kind of ending and they think about some other end to that movie, they will be disappointed with this kind of unexpected ending, i am also in your sort.

What you say is certainly very true but frustrating for a viewer of the movie.

If I understand you correctly, these are the movies which lets the viewers assume what the ultimate ending would be. Well, there are a couple of movies that I've watched and ended that way like and it left me with a hallow feeling afterwards---as if you did not get your money's worth. I hate these kind of movies!

sometimes I don't but in terms of writing these endings are more realistic life does not really have a cut off point unless you die.
