I had my colonoscopy on the 23rd of November, I was suppose to wait 2 -3 weeks, then get blood work, make an appointment to see him. I phoned a few days after the colonoscopy to make appointment left a message, didn't hear anything. Called a couple weeks ago when the appointment roughly should of been, elft a message, never heard antyhing. Left another message just before Christmas, and said after Christmas. I called again yesterday, and I figured they would get it today. I called back tonight and said seeing as they can't see to get my message, and make an appointment then I will get the 12 months refill then I will stop all medication and stop seeing this doctor period. I am not chasing a doctor, I am not wasting my time with the useless secretary who is always nasty on the phone, and I know they do get the message. My Mother called 2 of the days I did for my brother who sees the same doctor and he got an appointment, but they dont call me back nor even sckowledge me. So I very kindly told them, that I will take the prescription until the refills run out, and if they cant get an appointment in then, I guess I will hope I am in remission again, and hope my doctor will write the presciption for me until it stops working.

Wow!! It makes you wonder sometimes why some Doctors and doctors offices seem to take the Wait and see attitude. A little scary if you ask me, and I am hoping this will not become the norm even here in the US. Can't you find another doctor that you can see, or is this the closest one? Someone needs to see you without wanting to give you the run around.

This is the new doctor I was referred too. I was going to another GI, who refused to see me as he didn't see me in 12 months then told me I had to wait 3 months to get into my family doctor and get another referral but he could give me a prescription to the medication I was on (how does that work), so I waited the 3 months got in with my family doctor asked to go to someone else. Finally after 2 months of waiting, I got into this new doctor which my brother goes too. Whenever I call this secretary is so nasty, and never returns my calls. I am just getting sick of it.

That just doesn't seem right for a doctor's office to do, but my sister gets some of the same runaround trying to get in and see a doctor.

Nope, it doesn't but they seem to think the world will bend over for them like they are the only doctor around.

There's your brother, getting preferential treatment again. Start looking for a new doctor now as most have wait lists for new patients.

I really don't think that you should take your health into your own hand like this, but I can see why you would want to do that because of the fact that it seems to me that the doctors really don't have any kind of concern for you. I would recommend that you do everything in your power to find another specialist that will have more concern for you. You would never be able to forgive yourself if you were to get sick simply because of the fact that you had decided to take your health into your own hands.

Whatever health issues you are undergoing, it is my prayer that you'll get some respite. Your doctors' secretary or anyone from that office should treat you well as a respected client. You deserve better treatment than from nasty people. I believe that you can find a better doctor for you. In this times of situations, they should show more respect and understanding, especially with what you are undergoing.

I agree completely, they should treat all clients the same. I think it's all about mmoney now a days, and the more money they can make.
