I got up this morning and took some Advil this morning so I could get moving. I'm not supposed to take it ever due to kidney problems, but since I can't go to the spine doc right now and don't have my meds, I did break down and take two if them. They did seem to help me more than what I get at spine and pain management. Anyhoo I got out and started walking. I was alone this time because daughter is not feeling well. I didn't want to go home when I got near home, so I turned right and went to the little walking trail in the park. I've never seen anyone at this park. It used to be open for swimming in the summer. It has an Olympic sized pool that is never open anymore. To me it's sad that it's not open anymore. I like walking there sometimes and then just sit at the picnic tables. So then I came home and now a few hours later the Advil has worn off. I'm in my hospital bed watching Vampire Diaries. I had to call and cancel my spine appointment for tomorrow. I'll go in two weeks when I have my yahoo funds to pay for the visit. I'll have to try and go easy on the Advil. The kidney malfunction will show up on my labs next week when I go to my GP next Wednesday for my 6 month check up. I'm hoping that more walking will help alleviate some of the pain from spondylosis (arthritis of the spine). I'm still going to check and see if there is any yoga for people with mobility problems. Your thoughts?

That's great. Walking is a good exercise and it makes us healthy. I also try to have at least 10 minutes walk per day and put some ankle weights to produce more sweat. I'm wearing theses weights even at work and I only remove it when I sleep. Good Day!

I try to do 30 minutes, but it might not be every day. It's been 3 days so far. I can't go out when it's raining so I just try to walk when I can now.

As I had mentioned, there is chair yoga. There is also the option of using cushions to help modify a routine. The thing about yoga is that it really is for just about everyone--including people with mobility issues. Things can easily be modified to accommodate your needs. There are chair yoga DVDs, and there are gentle yoga DVDs geared toward people who do need certain considerations in their workouts.

I will look for some online. I tried doing some last night and one leg did okay but the left one wouldn't do what I wanted. I will keep trying.

I am glad you are walking. I have arthritis in my hip and knees. In the cold weather my hip and knees hurt me so badly I try not to go out at all unless I absolutely have to. I get a pain in my hip sometimes that I am unsure I will live through although I always do. Right down to the very bone. I hope you aren't sorry you took the Advil.

You are going to be a lean, beaming machine here before too long. Gunna have a fun Spring with plenty of energy to do and go. Our female kitty we adopted from what we think was an abusive situation is getting thin too. She is so cute now that she has gotten to know us all. She spent the first several months under out couch.

I just took more Advil so I can get busy without pain. I may go out again today. My weight is coming down from walking.

That is good. I wish I can do that too. It is good to start our day with an exercise. I have missed my gym for three days now since it is back to school and I hardly have the time to exercise now.

I want to go every day it doesn't rain. I can't go when it rains, and I don't want to go backwards in my progress.

I will probably go out again today. I'll put my laundry on and when I get back I will put it in the drier. I like getting out when I feel good.

I would like to know as well if there are any yoga exercises for people with mobility problems.

You can see them on YouTube. It's amazing, but I can't get down on the floor. I saw where one woman was lowered to the floor from her wheelchair. I saw one where an obese former gulf war vet couldn't walk after parachuting and landing wrong. He didn't give up and he is thin and running today.

I have a yoga DVD that is AM and PM toga for beginners. You do it first thing in the morning, and then at night before you go to bed. I've had too many back and neck surgeries to do any strenous kind of yoga. They told me walking in water is the best exercise for me, but regular walking is okay too. I haven't done much lately because it's so cold. Oh, and the Vampire Diaries? Love it! You'll have to tell me if you're a Stefan/Elena fan or Damon/Elena fan.

Walking is good. They always tell us that. I just came in from a walk myself. It's rather springlike out today. The sun's shining, it's above freezing so some of the snow's melting and it was nice and quiet. Glad I went.

That is so great. We haven't had any snow yet and it is cold to me. I loved it in upstate NY when we would have Indian summer. It was always so nice. I can almost feel your warmth.

Well that's great you were able to get up and go walking. I love to go walking but this time of year it's too cold to do that. This week it's supposed to be warmer so I'm thinking of going walking every night after work and see if my friend wants to go with me. Need the exercise. You can look up yoga exercises on youtube and even go to walmart they have a bunch of exercising tapes. Good luck and I hope your back starts to feel better soon.

As long as there is no ice I can walk. Too much likelihood if falling if I walk on ice. Here in the south we don't get much ice. It was warm all last winter.

I agree Silverfox. I will look on YouTube. I didn't think if that. There is so much I can't do with my limitations that I might just waste my money at Walmart. YouTube might have more of what I need.

You need a routine, I tried that but work got in the way. I want to get a dog to keep me motivated and moving on it. I hope you can get the medication you need and can get the routine in place. I know some mornings I am stiff and need to slowly start moving before exercising.

Bless your heart! You are working long hours. It's too dangerous at night. Even with a flashlight, it's dangerous.

Could you do some gentle exercises at home? It is great to get out and walk. Walking is such good exercise. But I would be careful with over the counter pain killers and meds. Here is an article about yoga and back problems and how yoga can help people with back problems. But, it is best to check with your doctor first. Anyways, it might be helpful just reading this article: http://www.spine-health.com/wellness/yoga-pilates-tai-chi/yoga-back-problems Wishing you all the best.

It would be hard to do exercises. I'm quite immobile, even though I can walk with a cane. I can't get down on the floor. Bending is also a problem because of arthritis that keeps my back from bending. Ice had 2 knees replaced so there's lots if pain there. Walking is about the best I can do, although I do want to do yoga that won't require much bending or floor exercises. I can't get on the floor at all. Can't get up.
