[if you dont play sims 3 or any sims game please dont post because you wont be able to relate with the topic. I only want to talk with someone who can relate] 4 weeks ago I created a topic about EA University being the rumored next expansion and yesterday they just revealed in a live stream that indeed its the next expansion and they revealed gameplay and features of this expansion. My first speculation about sims 3 University life having mermaids is wrong. We will only get Mascots, but the mermaid rumors are still going strong but for a different expansion. This exapnsion might get released around february or March. The gameplay remind me of sims 2 University (duh) and Apartment life. If we all remember in sims 2 Univerity , Only Young adults can go to college, now older adults and elderly can go to college too. You can have an npc room mate for your dorm so you can save rent. But what amazes me is that we can see what s going on on some classes, yes they wont be rabbit holes!! I hope classes will look fun and not repetitive. The College kids can have frat or sorority parties where they can get drunk..... with Juice....(really juice?) The trailers and gameplay videos are on youtube already. I hope my computer can handle 3 more expansions.....

I jumped from version one to three but it was the first version actually that gave me some insight as to what I liked about the game. Strangely enough I’ve not obtained any expansion packs as yet but the option is always there. The idea of a university sim really appeals to me so thanks for creating this topic. What really appeals to me in sims in general is just that simulations and even better accurate simulations. Although I don’t expect everything to be true to life exactly the little things that put you there really help me to appreciate the experience. That is my preference anyway.

some classes will be rabbitholes so we wont see what happens in those classes but there will be classes where we can see what is going on inside and we can control our sim on what they do in the classes. The expansions thata re worth getting base on my experience are ambitions, night life and seasons. I regret getting showtime and pets, specially pets, they make the animals annoying instead of charming.

another information, if you send your sim to university, your sim's family wont be aging. Your sim will also not age during their stay at university.

It sounds very interesting university and thanks so much for the tip about pets. When I don't have visual of course I've experimented with the pull down and multitask with the sim's home life if there is more than one in home. Once I took the game from the perspective of a teenager and it was very different.

I really like the fact that any age can now go to college as that is more realistic . I have been keeping up to date since the announcement. I will need it to help complete my sims experience . I also like the idea that I will finally be able to see into my sims classes , now I can make them get dates from in their class lol .

I dont know if sleeping with teachers to have a good great is like real life or not but its sort of going to be part of the game. From what I hear, if your sim will finish college, they can easily go to a higher job position at the beginning of their career. There is also cliques on this game, You can choose whether you like to be a jock, nerd or rebel.

finally, someone who can relate with this topic, Anyway the game is coming this march, Plantsims (half human/half plants) will be the creature for this expansion, ea realized, Mermaids wont fit in in university so they decided to put the in Island Paradise. I usually hate the EA hairs, but the dreadlocks on this gae excites me.I always wanted dreadlocks.

Don’t you find if you focus more on advancement than social you will get further. I am thinking grades will be the same as career where you can really get places if you put in the effort and time. However, if you want a more balanced life you will take time out for the more interesting aspects of life like dating. Now tell me is this like real life or not??

I am pleased to see that the makers of Sim 3 are keeping up to date with real life! Nobody should be barred from following a course of education, whatever age group they belong to. I myself very much enjoyed my life as a student in my mid-forties and felt that I had a great deal (in the way of maturity and experience) to bring to the class I was enrolled in. I don't play Sims, incidentally (except Farmville and one or two other similar games), so I posted BECAUSE attempting to artificially restrict discussions to a specific group of people here is NOT acceptable (and usually doesn't work)!

I do know how the game is played and why people play it (and I might have been tempted to ask why people waste their time on it if I didn't know!). You are at liberty to report any responses and comments, of course, which are not relevant to the discussion. In the case of those you mentioned, Admin would very likely agree with you and remove them. My point is that it is both rude and invalid to enter an open forum, such as MyLot, and specifically forbid certain people from replying. It is against the spirit of MyLot and will not earn you any favours. It is the function of the Interests groupings, not of the OP, to ensure that those people who may be interested in a topic see it. You cannot, however, prevent anyone at all from responding if they choose to do so!

against the spirit but not against the rules as, Admins never had problems with my topics that has disclaimers that doesnt allow people who will just ruin the topic. You are converting this to debate again, as usual. There is the religion and politics topics out there if you want to debate. I rather have few responders than waste time with off topic stuff that I have to report. again if you are not here to talk about sims 3, then I shall ignore you. Finally I get to block you.... Dont ever dare to bother me again

are you the one that tagged this? this s not a repeat discussion, the 2 discussions are about 2 different discussions, admins those tags are wrong, The sims 3 University life and the sims 3 island paradise are 2 different games.

That is interesting about the University. However, as much difficulties as I am having with the Master Suites expansion, I don't know if I would get University just yet. Guess I'll wait and see this goes. I'm sure my daughter will get it since she's going to college. :)

there is a thing in sims2 University that i don't want to be in sims 3 university life. Its making the students have woohoo with their professors who are all old and ugly so they can have good grades. I want that feature remove in sims 3.

I am not that conservative but my sims only have woohoo with their spouse, you know so they can have babies and babies will be their replacement when they die,

But isn't woohoo also an educational pursuit? Actually I've noticed in that in career's becoming a friend, or perhaps it is bringing the level of conversation to an acceptable level is what gets your sim advancement. If you decide to take it to another level or not has little effect on the results. Maybe it is the same with the professors?

I cannot wait till this game comes out as well. It will be a lot more fun to play especially with all the new features that are coming in. So now we really get to go into the classrooms and see what is going on with the classes. I'm very excited about that. I didn't get to keep up with the live streaming I will have to check it out. But I am definitely very excited about this expansion especially the rabbit hole feature being removed so that we can see into the classrooms. I'm also very excited about that any age can go to college now. I didn't like that in Sims 2 it was only restricted to young adults. I too am hoping that the classes will be fun and interesting and not just boring and stuff. But this should be fun, I can't wait for it to come out.

That will be nice to actually go in the restaurants this time. I miss that too. But isn't there that one restaurant that will allow you to eat outside. But either way, to see the inside of a restaurant will be fun.
