Totally hopeless Indian bowling

I didn't see such hopeless Indian bowling before this. I wonder how Dhoni allowed Ishant Sharma to bowl the 49th over when he had already bowled the most productive over for England. Moreover, this guy takes ages to complete one over. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar had already bowled two wides before and still Dhoni went for a faster bowler that consumed more time. I think, if India lose this match, they are themselves to blame for.

Yes, you are correct Indian bowlers are just Joker these days. These days there is saying that "if you are out of form just play cricket against India". India is totally out of form. Entire Indian team should be blamed for this.

Though I also agree with you, I will not really want to term them as jokers. It is just that they are not good or effective. Sometimes they bowl really well, sometimes they are really off. Just remember how excellent the Indian bowling the other day was against Pakistan. India was able to defend the target of 167 on pure bowling performance. But at the same time, I will again agree that the saying that you talked about is nothing wrong at all. As stronger teams can its players can improve their records by playing against weaker teams - though that does not happen always, there is much truth in what you say. I remember, when Australia toured Bangladesh, even the media was saying that we should expect records of highest and lowest scores. However, that did not happen.

Dhoni allowed Joginder to bowl the last over in the 2007 t-20 WC and you know what happened? He is the captain so it is his choice. If the pitch is benign even Steyn will get hammered, remember that. And India did not lose too badly after conceding 325. England is an improved team where as India is in the transition stage so India will take some time to get back to winning ways. They will, ultimately.

I remember, even in one of the matches where India was playing against Australia Dhoni allowed Irfan Pathab to bowl even when he was expensive earlier and he took the last wicket to give a series win for India. I think it was the CB series, I don't remember it properly. And even as I said earlier in one of the responses, I didn't like the decision that Dhoni allowed Sharma to bowl doesn't mean too much. These are just my thoughts. And I agree with you what you said. I am also sure that India will come out of this transition phase and give the fans something to cheer about.

Thanks for respecting my views. And I have the same feelings for you and all others here. By the way, you have rightly mentioned some facts here. Dhoni took over when there was indeed no one ready to accept this position of Indian captaincy. It is one of the hot seats in Indian cricket along with the national coach. Dhoni is the best captain and agree with you. Yes, Tendulkar was one person who did not have the luck to lead the team. If you and me think on these terms and respect players like Dhoni, Dravid and Tendulkar, cricket will be too good a sport.

These are just your thoughts, I agree and respect your opinion. I treat your thread as an opportunity to discuss and share our perpectives. Maybe we can benefit from how someone else looks differently at the same issue. Helps broaden our outlook. Dhoni became the captain because none was interested. He worked hard for his success and he proved he is the best captain that India has ever had. Now that his fortunes are dipping there are a few who think they can do better. But a word of caution for them, when Sachin did not have the courage to continue as capatain, when Dravid voluntarily stepped down from captaincy, they did so because capataincy was too hot to handle. Dhoni has never complained and his initiatives and bold moves have paid off, more often than not.

I agree it was really poor bowling. What is worse, Ishaanth bowled as if he had given up. I think he lost it in that last over. Of course, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is young and would learn from this experience, but from Ishaanth this was unacceptable. Cheers! Ram

You said it right - Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is young and he has a lot to learn. But the way Ishant bowled was certainly not worth forgetting easily. I realized one thing that he is not a thinking bowler and committed some mistakes like erring in line and length that gave some easy runs to England. There is really no excuse for such mistakes? What do you think?

What is worse is that he went on to repeat the same mistakes today against England. He continued to pitch short and English batsmen had a lot of fun. I think either someone needs to do some serious talking to him or he should be dropped. Cheers! Ram

Maybe, the bowlers would do better in the next match. The openers have started cautiously, and I hope they build up a major partnership. Else, it would be tough later on to gain pace, and beat England.

That's what keeps the world going - hope. Let's hope they do well next. And this "next" is like "tomorrow" for our Indian bowlers and the team as a whole. India has always been known to be a good batting team, but we know what happened during the Test matches of late. Nothing's going right for Indian cricket at the moment.

Hello, when I responding I think India lost this match. Bowling is week point of India. At present all bowlers have not enough international matches experience. In this match batsmen done their job well. I think Indian team is at reconstruction stage. After some time it will play better.
