myLot Copy-Pasting

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing fine! It really feels good when you are given the privilege to use the 'copy-paste' feature of this site. I sure it a lot especially when I make long responses or discussions. There are times that when you spend too much time making a response, it suddenly disappears when you try to send it. This is really very annoying because your time has just wasted. This is where the role of copy-pasting enters. What I do is write my long posts in a notepad or in Microsoft Word first then I will just copy-paste it into the myLot comment box, this way my post will surely be sent. To maximize the use of this awesome myLot feature, I thought of getting my original posts from some sites I joined before and paste it here in myLot. These posts originally came from me and so I think there will be no violations if I do this. I'm not really sure and I need some opinions or ideas regarding this. Thank you!

hmmm.... do you really want to know mylot users if they are doing fine? or just an opener to your discussion. yes... copy paste .. copy paste... copy and paste. A tip about this copy and paste. if you type a response you copy from the box so that it will be held in the clipboard. In case something happens like, you just get out of the window where you were typing, you can easily get back on it and paste what you have previously typed. this avoids you from typing all over again. this is based on mylot experience. I don't know whose end had the problem if it was from mylot glitches or firefox browser. It is just helpful to have it stored in the clipboard for pasting.

Madam Mavic, I would really want to know if you are doing fine. And I hope so. Haha I used that sentence to both open the discussion and to know if everyone's fine, is it that unbelievable? I don't think so. Thank you for the tip, it is very helpful. But what is a clipboard? Peace out!

Haha Whatever madam! If you answered "I'm not okay" then I will surely respond back and ask you why, then probably say "you will be fine soon", or maybe "be well". Haha Why don't you try answering me back that way some other time? Thank you for explaining about that clipboard thing. Still have no idea about it but I will try to use this maybe next time.

clipboard - This is a clipboard icon. One of the icons in MS office. This is used to store the copied parts or texts or images temporary in a document or presentation or whenever the software is being used. this is automatically cleared up once the software is closed.
Yes, it is unbelievable to ask every how are we doing? What if I answered "I am not okay" what can you do? LOL. but it is your writing style... so, again, I conform. About the clipboard? ok.. This is a clipboard icon. One of the icons in MS office. This is used to store the copied parts, texts or images temporarily in a document or presentation or whatever software is being used. this is automatically cleared up once the software is closed. Peace my friend.

Thank you for the response mom! Haha Yeah I'm sure I wrote them, though some are based from quotes or notes from other people, I just made or added little explanations. It's like I'm gonna be migrating my posts here in myLot!

devonavis, jenny1015 is your mom? I hope i also want to invite my family in mylot. My brother feel interested with mylot. Yes even we read some news or article in internet we should use our own words to post it here and not just copy and paste.

Hi, Akamarukei! No, Devonavis is not my real son. We just treat each other as though we are really related , but we are just practically friends here at Mylot. He just calls me mom coz he finds my advices for him like coming from his real mom, I guess. Plus, my real son is same as his age. So, I am just fond of calling him as my virtual son.

Definitely is very annoying when you prepare a long post - even more when english is not your mother tongue and you made a hilarious effort to think and post it- and then dissapear! I hate it when it happens. Okay, its great when you have the privilege to use copy-paste! lol. Have a nice day!

That is a good observation friend, this feature is enabled once you reach the 500 discussion mark. I also had the same problem earlier. Congratulations!!

Hi friend! It's a good thing that you were able to take advantage of this privilege. It really helps. Personally, I use this strategy especially if there are times that I don't have internet connection. Have a nice day!

Have a nice day too! It really took a lot of effort in my part just to reach 500 posts. I tried to reach this number of posts as fast as I could because I know it will be a big help, and I see now that it really is.

That's good, do what is more convenient for you and if that will add to more interesting discussions that will be better for sharing as long as it's original and real. Enjoy!

As long as it is yours I think it's a great idea. I never write anything that's very long or write on another site to be able to copy from.

Thank you! Sometime it is difficult to think of good topics for discussions. This made me think of copying some of my original works here in myLot. Not that these are great writings because I know how bad I am as a writer, but I think sharing them here is not a crime. Haha!

When I first got this feature I used it, but now unless it's something I have a lot to say about I just don't use it. You will find you get many more responses with shorter discussions. After all more money is earned with discussions and responses, so more people use them, rather then read or answer long discussions. But with each new feature you need to use it and develope your own style on this site. Blessings

I also only use this when I spend too much time typing, or thinking what to write. For me, I do not really mind if I will be getting a lot of responses. It is okay with me if I get like 5 responses for my discussions, after all, it is me who can really make my earnings and not from the responses from other members. Am I right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi devonavis, I was so eager to reach 500 when I started because at that time you can actually copy and paste things here. So if i wanted to share you tube video i could. Also net is not very reliable so what I do is I copy every response I write in mylot before submitting it and if it comes to that page is lost so i can refresh and paste again and hence my effort is not lost.

Hello! Thank you for the response. I already figured this out too. I'm not a fast typist and I lost my post most of the time because I spend too much time typing or thinking what to write. This problem is solved already so it's fine now.

I love to have that features too but unfortunately I still low in number but I'm on my way right now there, it will not be long until I can do that too. I also longing to have the features where I can use the emoticons in my writings, its fun to use it. I agree to you about the advantages of using the copy/paste function, I also experienced a lot of times the trouble where you are ready to send your request for posting but boom it will prompt an error instead, and it really a waste of time just like you said its annoying. But when the times I get this function I'll never suffer again with this kind of error in this site. :)

Don't copy and paste from other sites unless you want to get booted from Mylot. It is CLEARLY not allowed. It doesn't matter if you own your posts or not on other sites. Do it and you will get kicked off this site. There are individuals here who do little more than check for plagiarism. Yes, even if you copied yourself it is plagiarism on the Lot.

It's okay to copy your own words from MS Word or Notepad after you reach (500). Copying and pasting things somebody else wrote from another site is illegal. I don't know how they check for plagiarism here but I'm sure they'd know if you tried to do it.

Yes, that's a good way of using my lot. There are lot of times when everything vanished when you try to post a response. But the facility of copy and paste is only for those who have posted at least 500 posts . I'm far away from it, so I am left with no other choice but to write directly here and than send. I will too use the same approach once I reach 500.

Yes that annoying me when i take a time to start discussion, responses and comment my sentences suddenly disappears. That not only waste my time but also waste my cellphone battery. I'm always copy and paste my sentences before post. That happen when i using cellphone. Right now my user rating more than 500 so it is easy for me to copy and paste my own words.

I'm not sure what type of posts you speak of on other sites. You might want to check these sites and see if posting there constitutes the material becoming theirs. And I would be sure to re-word, re-write, edit, etc. so that the post is not the original. ANd if you write your posts in a notepad first you might want to check the margins after you cut and paste on here.

I really do like the fact that we are able to have the ability to copy and paste on this site. For me, I have to admit that I don't take advantage of this feature on a really regular basis. However, I do copy what I've written on a regular basis so that if the site should happen to hang when I am making a post, I have not lost the time that I've spent writing the response to a discussion. I will only use my ability to paste when something strange has happened with the response that I've written.

Yes. I agree that we should only use this feature of this site when it is really needed. My browser bugs down everytime so I write my responses first in my notepad then just paste it to the response box.

That's the kind of privilege I've been waiting for!!! And I'm so close. You're right, it's very irritating when you have written a great idea for a discussion or a response and then the network is like...poof...down. Arrrggghhh!!! I have been in this kind of situation many times and I really hate it! If I have a good mood I would willingly re-type my discussion or the response. But most of the time, I would just drop it. So yes, this is why I can't wait for the ability to copy and paste. Not for other reasons, by the way, as I don't have blogs or something else. But if you do that and it's surely your article, then I don't think you make any violation!

The copy and paste feature helps users to save their files over word or notepad and paste it over the site once they feel that it’s time to share it to other users. Usually I use copy and paste when I am thinking of putting more details on discussions and if I don’t feel that it is ready to publish over the site, I try to store it first in word/notepad and when I correct it and it’s time to upload it, it’s easy to do so because I just have to copy and paste it over the site.

Yes. Nice strategy. MyLot does not allow editing once we posted our responses so we need to be sure of everything we write. Sometimes I respond or make discussions and then realize later on that I missed something but I can't edit it so it just remains like that. Thank you for the response!

Yes, I do appreciate the copy paste here in Mylot. I am doing also what you are doing like writing a comment first in notepad. I am doing that when I am bored with my tasks in the office and there is no work. I use my idle time creating topic in the notepad and so when I was about free to do Mylot then I'll just paste it. lol. Internet surfing here in our office is not prohibited. It is one of our privilege at work.
