I just read an article via the net http://www.hjenglish.com/new/p428138/. It said that the most unfortunate name in UK is David. The survey found that many people who named David have bad lucks than other people. This is very interesting. Of course I can offer one more example. David Beckham often has wounds since he is a soccer player.

I don't believe on this, I think this is nonsense. Why would someone believe that his/her fortune is on the name given to him/her. This is truly a nonsense article..I should be the reason why someone would get misfortune or happiness because of the name given..

Interesting! There is of course St.David and we have St.Davids' Day
Saint David's day is the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, and falls on the 1st of March each year.
Our current prime minister is David Cameron, say no more LOL

I really don't know why some of my Brits friends where having jokes about names they would never maned their children. I just don't know why because I found the name they said very beautiful and interesting.
No.. I just don't think that name is unfortunate, in fact I am thinking of that name for my son if God will give me more sons and for sure that name will be one of them. David Beckham might have wounds but he is also famous and rich and a soccer hero. :)

I don't believe in such superstitions. David is a popular name, and good and bad luck happens to all kinds of people, so the way I see it, it's just a coincidence. Nothing more than that.

Wow! It's a biblical name but the reality they are unfortunate name in UK. They are unlucky who has name you mention. In our country David is not common name but I agree, I have one friend name David he lost his wife because it was having an affair.
BBC news also published their survey about the unfortunate name in UK: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7909561.stm

How can they possibly figure that one person's name has that kind of significance? I tend to not believe that. And who does the research on such things anyway. Reminds me of that machine on A Person of Interest. One that can track and know if a person is going to get into trouble or cause it.

Really, there is such article? It sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing it
here. However, David Beckham is quite lucky to earn big money and have beautiful
family. Do they mentioned the luckiest name? It is quite amazing to know that there are such surveys.

David Beckham is a lucky person, because he is an celebrity. I don't think it is the name which makes anyone unlucky.

This is like those kinds of "British scientists have said" - it has kind of become a joke in my country, as a gossipish site always posted these kinds of silly experiments and researches, and all of them were made by British scientists :D. This is such a pointless concept... some people just have too much free time on their hands to study something like this...

LOL. isn't it normal for David Beckham to have these wounds since he is playing soccer and he runs at all times. and good thing that you have brought this up in this discussion.. i will tell my friend David not to go to UK.
