Coffee is an addictive stimulant, but if you take only one cup in the morning, it cannot have a bad effect on your health. On the contrary, it brings a better mental concentration, a better attentiveness and even a good mood. It can become dangerous for your health only if you drink more than 4 cups daily. I don't know what you are drinking. If it is a robusta, switching to an arabica can reduce your morning dose of caffeine by two.

It can be an addictive stimulant, but it is not necessarily always addictive. Since it has proven to be addictive for many, though, and it is impossible to know how your body will react to it before you try it, then I agree that it is best to assume that it is addictive until proven otherwise. So, if I start drinking three cups of coffee a day ... but make sure to not stretch it to four ... then I will not have any health problems?

You will probably not have health problems due to coffee. But why an everlasting flower would care about health problems ?

Wait ... you did not originally say that I would not have any negative health problems "due to coffee" ... I thought that drinking the three cups of coffee would cure all my health problems, but now you are suggesting that might not be the case at all. Even an everlasting flower can be plagued by wilting petals from time to time you know.

Without coffee, I can not keep active during the working time, but after drinking a cup of coffee in the daytime, it is a bit hard for me to fall asleep in the night. It is said that coffee can keep heart-attack away while will make people more stupid in old age. It is really a hard choice.

hmmm i love coffee too! It makes my job easier because it is necessary for me to be awake most nights. I can only allow 1 cup a night and beyond that i will be shaky which is not good and my heart will palpitate which is also not good. There are so many benefits of drinking coffee but the one that really stands out for me is : IT is ANTI-Aging because of the Anti-oxidants that naturally coffee has. So why be guilty for just one cup? I do not like to stop drinking coffee if it is just one cup a day and i know that is just about normal and okey.

If you consume a large amount than it will have a negitive impact on your health. It has been proven that drinking one cup of coffee a day can lower your risk of getting skin cancer. I don't drink coffee that much because I get tired after consuming it and it's not addictive to me for some reason.

Getting nervous easily when drinking too much of it is one thing I could think of. :)

I love coffee too. i don't think it is bad for your health because you are drinking 1 cup of coffee only. I think those who drink coffee much as 6 cups to 10 cups are in danger of bad health. Everything that is too much is bad.

While we do hear the positives of coffee, I have at times felt coffee to be a bit heavy on my system, and also causing some kind of acidity. Hence, one should consume it in limits and should not consume too much of it.

It depends and varies from person to person. Doctors do not recommend drinking too much coffee, but they do admit that one or two cups a day is generally not considered harmful. If you have certain medical conditions, such as stomach problems, even a small amount of coffee can be harmful to your health, though, so it is best to find out what works and does not work for your body as that might be different than what works and does not work for the "average" person.

Coffee - Coffee is addictive
Coffee is so addicted and I am one of those who are addicted to it. I always have bad headache if I don't drink my morning coffee or coffee at any time of the day.

jirojoyman It's hard to know who to believe on health, isn't it. Studies have been done that caffeine is good for us..other studies say the opposite. I say moderation in all things. I love my coffee and for sure I an addicted to caffeine...I try to not drin.lk cokes and if I do it is caffeine free... I think one cup or even 2 of coffee every day is just fine...it's the several pots during the day that in my opinion would eb harmful..

They say that too much of anything is bad. Just like me now, My wife and I are trying to conceive a baby, that's why our MD suggested to "lessen" the caffeine intake, because it has something to do with our infertility issues now. I may have a cup or two, once in a week - to wean myself. Nice one. Thanks

If you drink it in reasonable quantities, I think it's alright. But one thing for sure that I don't like from coffee is its dierutic effect. If I drink even just one cup of coffee, I'll feel I gotta go to bathroom like every half an hour or a hour, maybe my body can't handle coffee or very sensitive in it.

No, a little of it help a lot as body stimulant. You can feel it. The rumors came from person who drink too much coffee everyday. Any extra is hazardous to our health.

Too much caffeine is not good for our health. 1-2 cups of coffee a day is fine and try not to exceed to avoid having problem issues. Take care of your health because it is very important.

If you just take a cup a day, then it will not harm you in any way. It can only do you no good if you take more than 3 cups in a day which might cause you to have palpitations, sleeplessness and other problems.

Excess of everything is bad.If you drink more than three cups of soffe a day,it may be bad for your health. But if you drink only one or two cups, then I din't think it would have any adverse effect on you.I take tea in the morning. This has been my habit for years and it refreshes me.My health is in good shape even if I take more than 4 cups of tea everyday.Impact of tea is different from the impact of coffee on your body.I seldom take coffee, perhaps once or twice in a month.

Anything that is taken in extreme will have potential hazards to our health. That includes coffee of course. If taken moderately and properly (not those who are full of artificial sweeteners and preservatives), then it can be a good drink to help us jump start a sleepy day. But once we start to take it in big "doses", we become addicted to it and caffeine can bring some problem to our nerves.
