Fright is not a good thing at times....

This morning my husband showed me a news reported in my country... It was regarding a school teacher that got panicked when a frog hopped onto her lap while she was driving, lost control of her steering wheel and crashed her car into a tree. The impact crushed her chest and killed her on the spot. Usually we have friends who likes to play prank or jokes, which sometimes might cause intense fear. This story is not prank, but it caused death. I used to watch some western movies like, "GAG just for laugh" on how the people play pranks on the residents. It is funny, but does everybody takes it for fun? Sometimes fright is not really a good thing, it is dangerous for those who are weak. For me, sometimes i might be a little weak for a fright. I have never wanted GAG show, when someone will be tested or played on. If I will be a victim of it I might punch the person. I mean it. LOL. anyway, yes, that's very dangerous. hmmmm... have you seen SUPERNATURALS TV series...(gossip: of the the boys there is my BF, yes, Dean). There was this particular episode about witches.. causing freak deaths. Hmmm.. no just thinking.... about.. hmm never mind Yes, fright is not a good feeling, not just at times, but as always.

My daughter is one of those whom fright is definately not good for...she has a heart condition and when someone frightens her her heart can start beating faster then it should! So no going around scaring her....some of these supposed jokes aren't jokes at all to the people they are trying to scare...

Hi jillhill, yes, it is not good to frighten and scare people with the things they are really afraid of. Especially you daughter has poor heart condition, even more need to be careful. It really gives people nightmares, and also it might bring side effect to their lives. Whenever i am being frighten badly, my hairs are all up and shivers. Hope people will think twice before they play irresponsible pranks on others.

Is this story true? Wow! I kind of think that I'm the type of person that does get frightened, but when faced with the ultimate scary situation, my flight or flight takes over and I fight. I can't take every day pressures, but when extreme pressure presents itself I hope that I rise to the occasion.

Hi jalucia, yes this is a true story. The children are warded in the hospital, and they lost their mother in this incident. Everyone has their own limit, just whether to what extend a person can handle the situation. Some people's heart cable aren't strong enough to take a small fright, it may give them a heart attack. Some people may just run or jump way which will hurt themselves. I am one who is weak myself, so i don't play pranks on others, because i know myself couldn't handle it as well. But a little joke is enough, before things get out of hand, some may get angry and mad over pranks.

How we act in times like this is very important. We need to keep control of the car and ourselves when driving. and the "GAG just for laugh" is scarey to me in that kids may try some of these and get hurt.

Alot of people don't seem to. Hopefully no one gets hurt too badly.

Hi celticeagle, yes is important that we need to have proper control. But sometimes, it is really out of our control, and different people has different level of response towards certain fright. Some may choose to hurt themselves, some may forget everything and just want that frightening thing to get away from them, some may choose to defend themselves. Yes, GAG shows are for laughter, but at the same time, like you said, we are worried that younger people will learn it and get hurt, or even make others getting hurt. So, it is important for one to draw a line and joke within the border in order that others will not be harm or hurt while laughing over it.

That's why I don't like pranks. They are more than just funny. Sometimes they are too much. I can't understand people really think working on people would be of so much fun. Not all people can handle the shock well.

Yes, I agree with you. I also like light pranks or jokes. But if it becomes physical, I'd rather slap the person who starts it.

Hi MissPiggy, i dislike pranks as well. Even sometimes people may get hurt unintentionally via verbal jokes, what's more a shocking prank. Besides, doing pranks for an earning at the cost of peoples' lives, is really terrifying. But if they are just some funny pranks which doesn't brings harm, then is fine.

That is such a terrible accident. And I bet nobody wanted that thing to happen to her. When it comes to pranks, I guess we have to draw a line between something that is going to hurt somebody. There is a thin line between something that is downright hilarious and downright mean.

yeah, it was really a terrible accident and i think it was rather unfortunate that she was frightened as such =( causing her life to be lost because she lost control of the wheels when she was caught off guard.

Hi Raine38 and chiyosan, very true indeed. We need to somehow draw a line when it comes to pranks and jokes, and it is really terrible if unforeseen misfortune were to befall on people. To some people, they may not be afraid of certain things such as this frog, but to this lady, it was her fright killer.

I've had practical jokes played on me, and I've, also, played them on others. These days, I realize that there are are harmless ones and there are ones that could be life/health-threatening. Any kind of practical joke that could cause a panic attack (and has the potential to cause a heart-attack) is not truly a joke and should never be done. I'm talking about things such as coming up behind somebody and tickling him/her, yelling BOO!, putting ice cubes down the back of his/her top, etc. or tossing a frog or mouse in his/her lap. Also, practical jokes that could cause bodily harm such as pulling chairs out from under people; placing banana peels in their paths; etc. There are even some practical jokes out there that have the potential to kill or maim several people at once. One which comes to mind is where a penny is placed on a rail in hopes of making a train jump the track. Here are some examples of harmless and funny practical jokes: Invite somebody to a snipe hunt and have the object of the joke be the one holding the bag to catch a snipe. After the person has been left holding the bag long enough, tell him/her that there are no snipes in the area but thanks for holding the bag so well. Invite people over for a meal at your place. When they arrive, give each one a toothpick with a chunk of cheese on it and a glass of water and tell them to enjoy their meal--and, in a little bit, reassure them that the pizza will be delivered any minute now. Ask a friend to dress nicely for a night at the theatre and dinner at a five star restaurant. Instead, go to the drive-in theater and get him/her a hot dog, popcorn, and a drink. My fifth cousin's husband did something like that to her one time. They both got dressed up to enjoy a night on the town. However, what she didn't know that they were actually going to a home game at her husband's old high school. Not only that, but they sat in the bleachers reserved for the fans of the guest team. Whenever, The Anderson Indians scored, Jim would jump up and cheer at the top of his lungs. Whenever the guest team scored, he booed. At first, Lois was a little embarrassed, but, soon, she was following his lead, and they had a wonderful time that evening!

Hi AJ1952Chats, i like your saying, "Any kind of practical joke that could cause a panic attack (and has the potential to cause a heart-attack) is not truly a joke and should never be done." Sometimes i myself is being frighten by sudden tickle too, and might unintentionally accidentally hit the person with my over-reacted respond. Oh yes, regarding pulling chairs out from under people, i saw my schoolmates play that kind of thing before. I have also heard there are cases where it caused the person to be permanently disabled and couldn't walk anymore due to his broken back bone. WoW! You seem really expert in making jokes. Do you play jokes often? But you seem to be more considerate when playing jokes, this is really good. Keep it up. Great to have nice people who cares for other peoples safety when playing jokes on them. I am sure you cousin and her husband had a wonderful evening with the game. Hehe...a joke that turns out to be a wonderful date. Lovely. ;)

I love watching prank videos because people react so funny sometimes. I've seen a few where people get really violent because they are scared or mad because they got pranked. I know that there are tons of vids on YouTube and you could spend hours watching other people react to being scared, surprised or injured.

Hi gitfiddleplayer, youtube do have a lot of videos to watch on pranks from all over the country. Some are funny, but some are dangerous. This is one of the extremely scary prank of a ghost appeared in the elevator. This is the link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7N5OhNplEd4 I heard the girl was beaten up badly by a man after knowing this is just a prank. Well, certain pranks can really have bad outcome and effect.

Hi, It is very terrible story. That woman lost his driving concentration for just a little frog and lost her life. You are right. Sometimes some pranks are dangerous for the weak mind people. For some people prank is just for the fun but they can't understand that they are playing with the lives of the people. So everyone should be careful while playing pranks.

Yes, you are right. We need to draw a line when we play jokes or prank with people around us sometimes so that we don't go overboard. Some people when they are playing too happily, they tend to forget the outcome of the jokes/pranks they are playing and lead to disastrous filled with regrets.

That's very terrible, maybe true no one wanted her to die but the person involved in this prank should explore possibilities the effect of their prank. I always watch gag shows before but then I stopped. I've come to realize that if it happens to me, I don't if I'd be laughing or wanna see people laughing at me. And in these shows, I learned about clean and dirty fun.

Hi vernaC, very true indeed. Some may come from the effect of their prank. This is a highlight of the prank. Some says it weren't their fault, but because of such idea, the prank might befall on others. Long time i have not watch gag shows already. Some are funny, but some are really overboard. I am concern at times when i see the victims are old granny, or elderly people.

That was a purely unfortunate accident. We all have our own similar frights, but they should not hinder us to do all the things we do.
