People tend to work on, when it is closely to the deadline or due date...

Good day Fellow Mylotters, Sometimes it is really difficult to explain why for some reason, people tend to work and do things when the deadline or due date is near. I mean, why they can't work on it a bit advance. Why wait for the day wherein the due date is too close. Just like what we are encountering here in our place, there will be a Home Owners Officers Election this coming month end. Submission of Certificate of Candidacy was announced 3 weeks ago. And, nobody submitted the Certificate of Candidacy. So they have set up a time when this candidacy will be submitted. Apparently, nobody submitted on a given time frame. but now, it was like there are a lot of people who wants to be officers as there are a lot of Certificate of Candidacy were being submitted. After hearing this, I just utter to myself, generally people tends to dwell always in a rush mode.

I don't get it. Why would some people be rushing themselves at the very last minute when they had a lot of time to do it before? Isn't that stressing? I always made sure that when there were things that should be met on a certain date, I try to finish whatever it is atleat just a day or two after I was informed about the project. I do not want to be in a hurry to finish it in a day or two before the deadline.

hi there, well, that is the right attitude. to do the job earlier to avoid the rush and pressure that it may bring. but, i just can't get it why some people tend to pass on the stress to their staff then disturb and disrespect the private hours of the latter. and for me, this is unfair.

So true! We should always give importance to the things that needs to be done right away than do other things that has nor bearing at all. And also, we must learn to do things on our own, find out for ourselves and learn.

well that is the effect of cramming when they were young. we have to teach our children not to be like them.

Because we tend to be active when we are in a rush. There is that feeling of adrenaline rush when we have to cram. It may be a challenge and risky even but we do it anyway.

this attitude sometimes gives a positive output as our adrenalin tends to be active then. as a result, a positive outcome arises. though it is still not advisable to entertain rush things.

Yeah, that is the common nature of all people including me. Even if I got to do some work and if there is lot of time remaining, I will do some other things and wait for the time just to end. And at that time I will try to do the job hurrying myself and putting into some trouble. I have seen this tendency in online application also. Even if the time frame will be 1 month, the server will be down due to heavy traffic on the end date of application.

Just like what i am doing now , it's almost 15 and 30 is fast approaching and still i am too far from the payout , so double time now to be able to reach payout .. hope i can , hope my fingers and mind will cooperate !

Good day Angelpink, This is the nature of most of all. And, in an office scenario, the bosses usually pass-on their pressure to their staff which is somehow annoying. Hence, they are disrespecting their staff's own time.

We don't give importance to work until its deadline come near. We think "who cares about it, there's still a week left" & continue to spend the time enjoying but when the deadline is too near we think that we should've done it before. It's simply human nature.

hi there r0cker, it is yes, a nature of every individual. and most of the time, if you tend to work on a project which is nearing due date is somehow not good. since you cannot review it very well.

How true! It is a normal inclination of people to take it easy till there is pressure. There are , of course some very systematic people who would finish it the day it is announced.I have always found that each person has a priority list.WHen something is topmost here and the person is totally forced to do it himself then it gets done first.

Ouch! Hahaha! You just hit me right there. ;) I do this sometimes. Well, I used to to this a lot when I was in college. I wouldn't do my paperworks unless it's two or three hours before the deadline. I'm a buzzer beater and I like that feeling. It gives me more energy to get focused on the job at hand. Cramming makes me think better on the approach that I need to do on the project. My mother used to reprimand me a lot about this attitude. However, when I started a regular job, I really toned down this attitude. I still do it sometimes but not on business-related things or projects. Just those things that I intend to do for myself.

Some people have that kind of attitude they tend to work on when it is close to deadline or due date. It becomes a habit. Probably they are working on many things. As for me, I want to finish my job earlier than the due date so that I can still have time to review on it.

yes, there is such excitement whether you will make it or not. maybe that's the reason behind it... they don't to appear that they wanted power too. Anyway, it is some of human's nature, to rush and cram. ohh if it is Candidacy for an Election, some wanted to be "pushed", "forced" or "convinced" even if they really wanted to be one.

a pleasant day to you, what you have said is certified correct. as a result, those who are in the higher position tend to give the pressure to their staff which is sometimes unfair, isn't it.

Its a shame to say that "SOMETIMES", i am like those people who do their own designated works just when the deadline is close. Well, in my case, honestly speaking, i am lazy to do the things i really need to do but the things i dont actually need to accomplish are the things i mostly do first. I dont know why but i think its because of the fact that when doing the things you really need to finish, you exert more effort than you do on things that you dont really need to do. In short, you get stressed out fast when you do things you need to do thats why you avoid them as much as you can :)

Hi, I love working just before the work is needed. When we see others working late towards due date, we complain. But I just never get energy to complete a task much in advance.
